I saved my lovely seat with these cheap hinges and I am very satisfied. Seat is sturdy and I am sure that it will last long enough to cover my spendings. People moaning about plastic nuts can go spend a lot more. Nothing wrong with plastic! The original hinges had plastic nuts too and lasted for 4 years until one of the hinges broke because of an initial wrong fitting by my wife (seen it moving a bit from the beginning but I thought that it’s not a perfect match with the toilet itself). Just take care matching the thread when screwing them in.

Be aware that these don't fit all toilet seats, mine was a cheap acrylic painted one from Argos (the range that comes in different colours) and the holes for the hinges on the toilet seat didn't fit. It was quite easy to drill new ones, but you need to be cautious when drilling new holes, as with the cheaper toilet seats, the material is so soft that you'll be making a hole on the other side if you don't watch the depth. Otherwise, the hinges are very good and considerably cheaper than a new seat. A size diagramme would be helpful, giving the total length of the hinge and the location of the holes.

So many products use a plastic or alloy hinge and I discovered this to be the case when I found one hinge broken on our upstairs loo seat. I had bought this kit a while back and I am, glad I did. It was a simple matter to use the two new hinges and so replace both the broken hinge and remaining one. I had planned it to be a temporary measure while awaiting a new seat but the repair was as good as new. I have just ordered another set as it is a useful kit to have and breakages always seem to happen late at night.. Do identify which hinge goes on which side by comparing them to the existing hinges to be replaced before removing them. I found it easier to first undo the old wing nuts and remove both old hinges and then fit the two replacement hinges through the hole on the loo bowl. Do not fully tighten at this stage. I then lined up lower seat hinge, drilled and secured. Do make certain of the positions . I then repeated the process and lined up the lid and marked the holes with a pen and secured this. Tighten screws and you are finished. All done ! Recommended

Picked up 20/8/2018 hinge broken by mid June 2019. Good whilst it lasted but seriously I have no wish to have to buy and fit replacements every year. Life is too short.

Easy fitting, adjustable, with non-slip plastic/rubber flat and cone-washers , where the only decision necessary will be 'which side is which ? 'Clever design which, I guess, will fit most WCs.We replaced like-for-like accidentally. One of the originals had snapped, (likely when a 2-yearold had slammed down the seat).

I'm assuming they're sturdy, and good value and that they are easy to install.Never actually had to use them, Landlord was having non of it, he fitted a completely new seat. I'll save them, just incase.

Seem a bit sturdier than the standard ones that came with the seat which had snapped. We go through 2-3 toilet seats per year due to poor fixings so hopefully these will last, if not still a lot cheaper than replacing the full seat.
