Not sharp
Came as promised but one thing, knife wasn’t sharp. Had to get it sharpened via friend who’s a chef.

This is a very nice knife
This knife comes beautifully packaged and would make an amazing gift. It is a very nice knife, though I would argue that there are better knifes out there for the price, though possibly none better looking or packaged. The feel and weight of the knife is good. It does cut well. I have many knives and cook everyday. This knife is better than most I have, but I do have a couple that I prefer using more based on feel, weight and cut. All that being said, I would argue that this is probably the most beautiful knife I own so it is hard to not rate it 5 stars. I can definitely recommend this knife.

Cheesy, kitschy, weird, but it can cut vegetables
The knife is packed in a cheesy wooden box which contains not only the knife but a leather sheath, some kind of polishing cloth, and a "Paul Brown" keychain in a leather satchel. The knife has an impractical, slippery handle that is very difficult to grip. As a knife it is reasonably well-balanced but why anyone would want this knife instead of the "Global 8-inch" knife made famous by Anthony Bourdain is a mystery to me.I did use it to chop up ingredients (olives, cucumbers, tomatoes) for an Orzo salad and it did a good job.Who is Paul Brown? I googled "Paul Brown knife" and apparently this is a very popular brand of chef's knife in Dubai, of all places. The name "Paul Brown" is a curious choice for a middle-eastern knife trying to become a global brand, just as including a keychain in a leather satchel is a weird touch.

Nice quality knife with all the extras for a gift
The knife itself is a great piece. Firm fit in the hands, feels well constructed and sharp. It came with a wooden box, foam liner, sheath, and some other decorative things. All in all it was a great gift knife to share and a good price. The two gripes I have with the one I got was 1) the foam cutout in the box didn't match the shape of the knife. It had extra space at both knife and handle ends like it was meant for another, larger knife. 2) the foam cutout became sticky. Like the adhesive for the foam melted to the handle and blade in multiple spots.
