Vagabond Vol. 1 (Manga) [in Japanese Language]

The book came just as desired, in Japanese, and it's in really good condition; feels like I picked it up off the shelf.

This is a period piece manga from Japanese history. From the Sengoku era to be exact. This is the story of two boys that leave their village to find adventure and fame from battle. The main character is Shinmen Takezo and his friend is Hon'iden Matahachi. Takezo is an orphan that live out in the wild to train to fight. He killed a man when he was only a boy, that lead his town to shun and fear him. They called him "Demon boy" (Takezo). Matahachi was the only boy in the village that wasn't afraid of him , and that is why they became friends.The first volume is about the downfall of Matahatchi's devotion to his fiancee back at home and how he become a coward and liar. Takezo is pulled in to battles to fight by himself and increases his savagery.The art in the first manga is a little sketchy and rushed. Some of the detail is good though. This manga is drawn almost like pictures from old Japanese drawings. There are a couple mature themes in this manga so watch out if you don't want to see a couple naked people.
