MICHELIN12V High Performance Programmable Rapid Tyre Inflator, Black

I have been looking for a replacement digital tyre inflator and an offer came up on this neat looking device from Michelin.Reviews were positive for the way in which the inflator attaches to car tyre valve and I agree. It's easy to get the hang of and works well with no risk of air escaping once in place. It's also very easy to remove when inflation is complete.Some reviewers complained about lack of storage for the power cable. Although there is a clip to retain the inflation pipe after wrapping it around the device itself, there is no specific provision for the 12v plug after winding the power cable around. Whilst this is a bit of an oversight, it is reasonably simple to find a position to tuck the plug under the cable to secure it in place. As others have said, it would have been nice to have included a storage bag with the device.My biggest gripe is with setting the inflator to psi/kpa/bar etc. Devices like this should be simple to operate without needing to refer to a manual. The complication arises because the same few touch-sensitive 'buttons' are used to alter three separate sets of values, namely, the numeric pressure setting, the unit of measure, and finally whether the device is being used to inflate car tyres, bicycle tyres or footballs. There is no labelling to indicate how to do this on the device itself.Overall, I am pleased with this inflator and the price I paid for it. Given the infrequency with which it will be used, I suspect the unintuitive setting procedure will continue to irritate every time because I will keep forgetting how to do it!

I returned this item. It wasn’t ‘programmable’ in a way I recognised and the hose was separate from the pump. There was no housing in the device to store the hose. I reckoned that when you needed to use the pump in the dark you’d likely spend ages trying to find the parts.
