Fabulous read
A wonderful story or individual heroism and the sheer awfulness of communist repression. Anyone who reads this could not vote for the corbinistas or their ilk. Thank god most of Western Europe was spared communism and how much we have to be grateful for to the USA. I was around in the sixties and this brought those horrors vividly back to life. It does not however make me a fan of a united Europe lead by Germany west ,east or united.

Very good telling of a less well known Berlin Wall story.

Interesting read
This was a subject that I knew very little about, brave people who were keen to support the freedom of others

Great book.
Really interesting. Well written. I don’t read. I have read one book in 45 years, but this book has captivated me. This is now book 2 for me. It’s given me a new love for reading.

Average
A good book but it’s not fully about the tunnels that were dug, there is to much about politics. I wouldn’t read another book by this author

Absolutely incredible
I lived through these times but didn't pay it enough attention then. I now realise the enormity and courageousness of the tunnelers and their task. Such brave people and a credit to humanity only surpassed by wartime heroes and heroines.

Gives a good picture of life in east germany
Very thorough. Told lots of stories of people escaping to the West and the tremendous difficulties they faced
