Resurrection (Redemption Harbor Series Book 1) Paperback – July 11, 2017

I just love a good second chance romance. Happily for me, Katie Reus did this one right. This book is the first of a new series and Katie takes a little time to introduce some terrific side characters in addition to a team of really kick ass MCs.Both Skye and Colt were great characters, they were strong, clever, capable, confident, big hearted, and loved each other. There is no OW/OM poop in this story and the way the separation happened was very believable. I loved that Katie took the time to explain to the reader how a character as smart and capable as Skye ended up in a corner where her best option was to fake her death.The supporting cast really exemplified the “when you show up with a dead body, a real friend grabs a shovel and doesn’t ask questions” kind of friends we all want in our lives and I look forward to seeing their stories in the upcoming books.This story is well paced with lots of action and a very satisfying conclusion (the bad guy doesn’t get away with it – YEAH!!!).The author gifted me an audible copy of this book with a request for an honest review. Well, I enjoyed the book so much, I bought the kindle copy too. The narrator did a very good job.

Though Colt's quick forgiveness might not be the most realistic, I'm glad there was a lack of drama in that area. He never expected someone would beat him to rescuing her, especially when that someone is supposed to be dead.POSITIVES-- Skye was a great heroine who can take care of herself, kick some butt, and is willing to do anything for those she cares about. I loved watching her blow things up and take out the bad guys.-- The drama was pretty minimal in this one and I liked that. Colt is hurt and upset when he first finds Skye again, but since they're both in the spy world, he understands her choices. He forgives her pretty quickly and is just thankful to have her back.-- Mercer and Mary Grace's reunion was so sweet and heart warming. I can't imagine losing the love of your life and then finding them again. They're a really cute couple and I admit in the beginning, that I was more interested in their story than Skye and Colt.-- The side characters were all great and I look forward to getting their stories.NEGATIVES-- Small thing but because this was the first in the series, there was a lot of set up for the future books. Katie Reus does a pretty good job of weaving in hints about their stories and history but it is a lot of characters to learn about.-- This isn't out of the norm for romantic suspense, but there was an awful lot of disregard for laws going on in this book. Now most of the guys getting killed were dangerous, bad guys but I just wanted to include it. This group of friends definitely has no problem letting the end justify the means.

RESURRECTION is an engrossing 2nd chance romantic suspense that will capture your interest from the start. Skye Arévalo returns from the dead (figuratively) to save Colt Stuart’s life-long friend from a Mexican cartel. It’s been 6 months since Colt lost the love of his life, and if you thought finding her alive was a surprise, wait until you read the rest of their story. This is a captivating and engrossing read that will keep you thoroughly enthralled. All the characters are well drawn, and the storyline is filled with gripping drama, riveting intrigue, compelling suspense, and steamy passion. All the right elements for the perfect romantic suspense.

This was such an enjoyable listen. Firstly, the narrator was excellent. She did all the voices brilliantly. I was hooked from the story she was unfolding. Secondly, the story itself was fantastic as well. This one was action-packed, thrilling, hot, and heartbreaking. And as a bonus, it barely took any time at all to get into it. I loved all the twists and turns the plot took, and can't wait for more from this series. The secondary characters were interesting and piqued my interest in them, but never enough to take away from the couple this story was about. Definitely recommend this to fans of romantic suspense.

.25 RATING- A great start to this new series! I love Katie Reus romantic suspense but was surprised to like this one as much as I did. Of course, I do love a back from the dead story line which may have factored in to why I liked this one so much but putting that aside, this was a solid story! I was pulled in immediately and read it right through. The pacing was well done throughout. I loved that the heroine was a complete bad a**! I have no complaints about the hero either, he was all in, all the way, which I love. The book introduces several characters which I'm sure will be featured in future books. Readers get a very short peak into what the story line may be for the next book and I'm stoked. I love a good damsel in distress/woman on the run story. I'm only bummed it's not scheduled to release until "late 2017". Book two is definitely going to the top of my TBR list when it releases.

An entertaining story about some difficult subjects, lots of alphabet govt agencies, graphic hot sex and romance. Was nice company during the Covid stay at home crisis.

Another excellent book by this talented author and I am really looking forward to the next book in the series. Thoroughly enjoyed reading about Skye and Colt's storyline and the introduction to the other characters in the next series of books.

A great mix of intense action, suspense and heat.

Well written, with good characterisation.The story opens with Cole and Brooks performing an intervention for a mutual friend, Mercer, whose grief over the loss of his wife, Mary Grace, is driving him towards suicide. But is Mercer’s wife really dead? Cole has heard a rumour that she is alive and a captive. He plans to investigate and rescue her while Brooks keeps watch over Mercer.There are plot elements that I have seen in other romantic suspense novels - like the tight-knit group of friends that conveniently includes a billionaire and a computer genius - but there are also plenty of unexpected twists and breathless action sequences. There is too (for my tastes) an excessive amount of sex.

This book is the first in the series and introduces the listener to all of the major players in the first few chapters. The prologue focuses on the two main characters and establishes their relationship.The story starts with action and this continues throughout the story. A tight knit group of friends, each with special skills, that have each other’s best interests at heart.If you like thrillers with strong, intelligent and resourceful characters, both men and women, then this book is worth looking at. There are great descriptions of the areas and action. The dialogue between the characters feels real.
