This was a great buy. The live version of Still In Love With You is a well known classic, but the studio version has a funky appeal of it own. I like it more every time I hear it.

Thin Lizzy were the first band who's records I started collecting in my youth. Even now (although most of it's on vinyl and I no longer have a record player), when I go back to their music it remains richly rewarding.I personally like Lizzy (and Lynott's solo stuff) most when they're soulful and melodic. 'Still In Love With You' is an achingly beautiful ballad of lost love, with Gary Moore's solos reaching lyrical peaks of incredible beauty (the chordal voicing of the rhythm guitar is completely sublime too), and Lynott duetting with the great blue eyed soul singer Frankie Miller to great effect. There's even some congas on the fadeout, fantastic! Even if the rest of this album was rubbish (and of course it's not, it's superb!), this one song would easily justify the price of purchase.With touches of Jazz, and buckets full of Soul, this is Lizzy (and Lynott) at their very best, proving that they were much more than just a brilliant Rock band.

This remastered Thin Lizzy album you need to have as it's before they became famous as it's got some classic songs that they played before Phil passed away .

Great earlier album I particularly like the title track, and 'She Knows' and 'Still in love with you' The last one is probably the best known track as it was on later albums as well. More soulful and thoughtful than later rocker type albums, but still plenty of good guitar riffs.

Nightlife es un disco único, Thin Lizzy no ha hecho un disco así ni antes ni después. A excepción de 2 temas (It's Only Money y Sha-la-la) se trata de un trabajo más bien tranquilo (con instrumentación que bordea el funk de a ratos. Se trata de un disco poco celebrado y que para mí no tiene desperdicio, de principio a fin. En cuanto a la edicion deluxe, por suerte es de una gran calidad como nos tiene acostumbrados, con una remasterización excelente (hay que decir que las grabaciones ya era buenas de por sí), una atractiva presentacion en digipack y un folleto generoso en fotos e historia de ese período en de la banda. Solamente faltan las letras de las canciones pero eso es algo que ocurre en toda esta serie de reediciones deluxe.El segundo disco viene con 11 bonus tracks, en esta oportunidad no hay canciones inéditas, sino tomas en vivo en la BBC, demos con Gary Moore (una joya) y alguna versión alternativa de las canciones que se encuentran en el disco original.Recomendado 100%

Ja, das ist kein typisches Thin-Lizzy-Album, der Trademarksound kam erst erst mit Fighting auf wurde auf Jailbreak perfektioniert. Nightlife ist ein eher solitäres Übergangswerk zwischen den frühen und den klassischen Alben. Vielleicht am ehesten vergleichbar mit den Soloalben von Phil Lynnot, die allerdings Soundmäßig eben schon 80er sind. Hier jazzt es durchaus hier und da, Vielfalt ist Programm und trotzdem lässt sich das Album sehr gut durchhören. Wenn ich nur 5 Thin-Lizzy-Alben mein eigen nennen dürfte, wäre Nightlife jedenfalls dabei. Zusammen mit Fighting, Jailbreak, Chinatown und Live/Life (wegen des umfassenderen Repertoires für mich noch besser als die schon hervorragende Live & Dangerous)

questo lo reputo abbastanza buono: il trasporto e i tempi di consegna sono stati regolari e le condizioni del prodotto in buono stato. Il disco è il primo album con Scott Gorham e Brian Robertson alle chitarre. Abbastanza buono come disco, alcune tracce si perdono un pò, ma i pezzi migliori sono She Knows, Nightlife e la mitica Still in Love with you, in cui in questa traccia la chitarra la suona il compianto Gary Moore, Grande Chitarrista Blues e Hard'n'Heavy. Consigliato agli amanti dell'Hard Rock classico anni '70

I Thin Lizzy difficilmente deludono e anche in questo album, che naviga ancora distante dalla successiva svolta stilistica con relativo successo commerciale, non smentiscono le loro doti di pionieri di un certo hard rock che verrà, soprattutto per quel che riguarda scambi di fraseggio e ritmiche differenziate tra le due chitarre. Ci sono qui tre perle assolute: Still In Love With You dolce e struggente con un grandissimo Gary Motore alla chitarra solista; Showdown che sembra essere un lento blues prima di progredire come una cavalcata verso un tambureggiante boogie rock e infine Dear Heart una poesia con tanto di violini, cori e il canto quasi sussurrato di Phil Lynott.

My misspent youth was filled with albums like this.Had a thing for that double lead guitar sound. I stilllove the "Tin Lizzy". I have owned this CD before and thiswill be one for the Collection. I believe this to be thefoundation music from this band that led to a spell of heavypopularity. Though the "Boys are Back in Town" sounds somewhatdated these guys hit a certain stride and I have a stable ofremastered and deluxe 2CD sets from their catalog. "Johnny the Fox"is on the top of my Lizzy list. Ah....the good old daze!UPDATE....it needed remastering, I've said that for a decade.....finally the 2CD version released to a seller is in transit. I havefaith that this will sound "right"....Avatar came through for me...MARCH 30th/12....The sound quality, like "Fighting" is the best we willprobably ever get. The title track sounds great in this remastered form.This one is on the top of my "Add to Cart" list. Worth the coin....

Más tranquilo y reposado en los ritmos, pero no por ello peor. Cuanto más se escucha, mejor parece.Sin desperdicio.Colaboración del inolvidable Gary Moore en el cuarto tema.Muy recomendable.

Premier album en quatuor de Thin Lizzy suite au départ d'Eric Bell et à l'embauche d'une paire destinée à devenir légendaire : Brian Robertson et Scott Gorham. Album atypique aussi, transitoire.Le passé du groupe est encore très présent dans le songwriting et les arrangements de Nightlife. Loin d'être la saillie frontale de son successeur, l'ultra-efficace Fighting, c'est une aeuvre multiple, gorgée de la soul toujours si présente dans la voix de Phil Lynott, se baladant vers le blues le temps d'une renversante paire (le ténébreux et funky Night Life et l'émouvant Still in Love with You avec la guitare magique de Gary Moore pour un solo d'anthologie), l'influence folk irlandaise (Banshee ou un Philomena dédié à maman Lynott) et bien sûr d'explosifs hard-rockers qui aiguillent le groupe vers sa prochaine destination (It's Only Money, Sha La La pour ne citer qu'eux). Ponctuellement, la marque de fabrique des guitares-saeurs est là, embryonnaire, pas encore tout à fait l'élément décisif du son de Thin Lizzy qu'elle deviendra, déjà plus qu'une esquisse.Dans son acceptation originelle, Nightlife est un superbe album, annonciateur d'enregistrements également riches et variés (Black Rose,Renegade) et preuve d'un groupe dont l'inspiration dépasse et dévie notablement celle de la plupart de ses contemporains. Mais nous sommes aussi ici pour évoquer le tout nouveau Deluxe qui, sortit conjointement à Fighting, complète encore un peu plus une série où ne manquent plus que Renegade et Thunder And Lighting. Et donc les bonus. Généreux comme c'est souvent le cas dans les éditions « deluxe ». Tout un cd (46 minutes) pour moitié composé de BBC Sessions, pour le reste d'une démo avec Gary Moore et de chutes de studio. Evidemment, c'est la démo avec feu-Gary Moore qui « excite » le plus, comment aurait-il pu en être autrement ?Les enregistrements pour la BBC se décomposent en deux sessions, respectivement captées les 3 et 23 octobre 1974. La qualité est celle d'une bonne retransmission radio soit imparfaite mais largement suffisante pour se rendre compte que Thin Lizzy n'ont pas le moindre problème à reproduire live (en studio pour la circonstance) ce qu'ils ont gravé sur album. Démo oblige, les trois titres enregistrés avec Gary Moore (et donc sans Robertson et Gorham) ne correspondent pas tout à fait aux standards hi-fi des versions de l'album. L'intérêt, quasi-archéologique, est évidemment d'y entendre Gary. Et on n'est pas déçu. Seul guitariste à bord, Moore, sans y être envahissant, appose sa touche allant même jusqu'à occuper le poste de second vocaliste sur Still in Love with You. Quand aux deux alternate takes qui concluent ces bonus tracks, pas extraordinaires, elles justifient l'emploi d'un double support (sans elles la durée n'eût pas dépassé les 80 minutes) et constituent une curiosité pour les fans, guère plus.La version deluxe de Nightlife était-elle vraiment justifiée ? N'offrant pas le moindre véritable inédit, on peut en douter. Si les démos avec Gary, le luxueux digipack et son livret qui va bien sont autant de bonus bienvenus, le reste des ajouts est nettement plus anecdotique. Love this Lizzy album! very jazzy and chill, but still a couple of rockers. Deluxe version is killer!

The Vinyl came in very good packaging, protecting it from every possible harm. The pressing is dynamic.... Sounds very clean and balanced..... Recommended...

Lavoro atipico ma ricco come sempre di spunti. Da riscoprire. Ottima la rimasterizzazione, ma fondamentalmente inutile il secondo dischetto privo come è di veri inediti. Grande il servizio amazon.

Nightlife, l'album stilisticamente diverso dai precedenti e dei successivi lavori, un sound meno hard ma d'impatto, il secondo cd è pieno di pezzi e demo tapes inediti.

Come ogni album di questa grandissima Band anche il IV° lavoro datato 1974 saprà accontentare i rockers più esigenti !

je pensais qu avec l arrivée de robertson et gorham cet album marquait les vrais début vers le graal un peut comme ufo l à fait avec phenomenon à la méme epoque j ecoute thin lizzy depuis 1980 m ai je n avais pas les premiers opus.ce nightlife m a déçu plus rock que hard Ca encore celà peut passer m ai trop de ballades sirupeuses avec des violons qui n arrangent rien a cette molesse je lui prefere encore a la rigueur le précèdent shades of blue orphanage plus honnéte d autand plus qu eric bell est un remarquable guitariste la vrais naissance sera pour le suivant fighting.

Excellent Album. Thin Lizzy at their best. Lots of variety and lots of great songs.
