It does provide some relief
I have been in several auto accidents in which I was hit from behind. My neck pain is intense at times, but mostly it's just a constant ache with stiffness. I have trouble turning my head or tilting it back (for example, to gargle.) Nothing has helped much, including physical therapy, and i don't like to take pain meds. I thought I would give this device a try. I use it at night after working on my laptop, when my neck hurts the most. I found it very easy to use. It pumps up quickly and easily, and I find it soft and comfortable. It's not a miracle cure, but it does provide some relief. I leave it pumped up for about ten to fifteen minutes to gently stretch and relax my neck, then I let some air out and leave it on for another half-hour or so. I have found that this gives me a little more flexibility in my neck so that I can perform some of the neck exercises that I learned in physical therapy. This routine over three weeks has definitely improved the pain and stiffness. Again, it's no cure, but any improvement is very welcome, and I will continue to use it.

It works! It works!
I've had a number of cervical injuries over the years and periodically have to use a cervical collar, traction device or both. I absolutely HATE the over-the-door traction devices because they can easily put too much traction on the neck, making the situation worse, and also because they require you to sit up so straight for the length of the treatment. When my neck flared up again recently, I had to order a new cervical collar to wear at night. While I was looking through the options on Amazon, I read the reviews on the Inflatable Cervical Traction Collar and was intrigued. I ordered it and was blown away by how easy it is to use, how gently it puts traction on my neck and how it allows me to sit back in a comfortable chair for the length of the treatment. The first time I used it, I actually fell asleep because it was so comfortable! More importantly, I received the relief I was looking for without any of the discomfort I associate with the over-the-door devices. Just to be clear, I didn't receive any incentives for writing this review, I paid for the device myself and my only motivations are to thank the manufacturer and supplier for such a wonderful product and to share with other neck pain sufferers the wonderful experience I had with the Inflatable Cervical Traction Collar.

Only a neck Pillow
I ordered for my husband who is of average neck size for a man.(he is thin) It arrived in good condition with very short straps. Nothing like the picture. I let the company know that the straps were short and did not reach across and if you tried inflating the device the little that did reach would let go. They told me it was a defect and sent me a new one right away. They new one had straps that were about an 1/8th on an inch longer so no real difference. Needless to say he can not use either one with out being choked. If he uses with out the straps he gets no benefit, just a neck pillow. The device it's self is ok. You have to pump it a lot to inflate it, and I do mean a lot. Even if you want to leave it semi inflated it will still deflate all the way overnight. At least both of these do.They are reversible you can have the pump on either side, but the smell of....um plastic, mold, dust not sure. Has yet to go away i washed with dish soap and water and it still has it.Any one with long hair make sure you put it up or it will pull it out as it inflates.UPDATE****this company has amazing customer service *********

I feel better
I honestly can't say if I'm getting better, yet I know that after I wear this for 15-20 minutes I feel some relief and my neck doesn't pain me as much when I move certain ways. I'm at a computer working most of the day and then I enjoy reading, so neither are good for my neck. I've started to use this every night while watching TV and before I go to bed and feel that it makes for a more restful sleep and eases some of the tension that's created each day as I work. This is no way replaces a doctor, chiro care or a massage therapist. Instead consider it one more piece to your arsenal to get you through the day.

No instructions provided
This came with no instructions. I think the straps that hold it in place are too short. The Velcro is too weak - the straps pop off when the unit is inflated. The straps tend to choke me. I think this will be better once I do something about the short straps.

OUTSTANDING Customer Service
Having learned how to properly utilize the device, it actually works well and will provide the necessary therapy and pain relief customer is seeking.Initially, I encountered a problem with the device and -- have since-- chalked it up to a defective piece of equipment. It happens. However, the company worked tirelessly to ensure that I was completely satisfied. And THAT is rare. Equally as rare is a dissatisfied customer's willingness to change a negative review. I'm please to be that rarity.THIS company deserves it!

Good Traction Relief
I bought this for my husband who had a neck injury. The traction is what gives him relief, but it's inconvenient and expensive to run to the chiropractor so often. Actually, it was our chiropractor who suggested purchasing an inflatable traction collar to begin with. My husband likes this collar and feels that it gives him adequate traction relief. He does caution not to inflate it too much, however, as it begins to put pressure on the carotid arteries, which is why only a 4-star rating. A good deal for the money.

Don't read the "phsical therapist" influenced review
I have many neck issues (stenosis, herniated disc and pinched nerve). I had a doctor and physical therapist "sell me" a Saunders cervical traction unit. This 18 dollar unit is superior in comfort and traction of the neck. I was so reluctant to buy this after reading the review that said they took it to their physical therapist and she concluded that it provided no traction. Well this packs a traction punch. Perhaps the physical therapist is like most in her field-accepted into their field of study based on academic performance and probably has no more mechanical ability than my cat. Don't forget the doctors office and physical therapist get to charge you and your insurance for the Saunders device and for "fitting it"----to the tune of about 800 dollars! Buy this for 18 bucks it works much better.
