Bunnybear Hardcover – Picture Book, January 31, 2017

I love this book. I use it in my theater classes from preschool to third grade. Kids love the story and have so much fun with the characters and using their imaginations to bring the story to life. Most importantly, the message of being able to be who you are without judgement hits home with my students and with myself. They really get the take away that everyone is unique and everyone can and should be loved for who they are and they don't need to hide it or be ashamed if they feel different from those around them. Such a gentle and sweet way to get this message to young and old alike.

It's a short and sweet story about a bear who's a bunny on the inside. At first he isn't accepted by his family, but he explores and finds a bunny who's a bear on the inside. It's a story about accepting people who are different on the outside from what they identify as.We got this from the library previously and decided it was worth adding to our child's collection.

My boys love this book - the first time we opened it they demanded we read it three times in a row, and it's still a favorite, a few weeks in. The description of BunnyBear's feelings are so relatable - when he's being himself, he feels "free and light and happy" and when he's laughed at he feels "cramped and fidgety" - who among us hasn't felt that way? The design fits the content perfectly, too - I particularly love the Grizzlybun page. This is a great book to reinforce basic values about respecting what people tell you about themselves and loving them the way they are, not the way you expect them to be. I've requested that my local library add it to their collection so that all of our local families can benefit.

Wonderful story about the magic of being yourself

Amazing, amazing book about fitting in as you are and how you may feel even when the way you look may not be how you actually feel on the inside. I adore this book and my little one loves it as well. I am so Impressed. I would recommend this book for any parent who has a child who may have issues fitting in anywhere.

If you think Bunny Bear is cute on that cover, wait until you meet GRIZZLYBUN! Great fun bedtime read-aloud about being yourself and finding like-minded friends.

As a guy who feels like a merman inside, I get where Bunnybear is coming from. He's a bear on the outside, but feels like a bunny on the inside. I loved this story of acceptance and embracing who you really are. Highly, highly, highly recommend!
