As frontman, songwriter and most prominent visual presence of punk pioneers the Ramones, Joey was a prime mover in musical and cultural revolution whose repercussions are still being felt. After the band hung up it's spurs in 1996, he launched his solo career, brimming with new ideas and adventurous new songs, before his progress was cruelly cut short by his death from lymphoma on April 15, 2001. YA KNOW whose title refers to the phrase that was a ubiquitous staple of Joeys conversation, and which will be the legendary singer/songwriters final album adds a significant new chapter to the seminal punk icons hugely influential body of work. The tracks were drawn from a cache of demos and unreleased recordings that Joey had cut at various times during the last decade and a half of his life. It's a riveting collection of previously unheard songs that embody Joeys trademark intensity, wit and infectious hooksmanship, and that will stand proudly alongside his most beloved Ramones compositions.

For Dedicated Fans and Collectors
The limited edition version of Joey Ramone's last solo album is just as described: limited. Only 500 copies were made for record store day back in 2012. It includes the following:- Ya Know? Audio CD- A DVD featuring interviews with Kirk Hammett, Debbie Harry, and others- A 24 page booklet with pictures and lyrics- A playable 5" vinyl "Merry Christmas(I Don't Wanna Fight Tonight) ornamentThe CD is a collection of Joey's old demos and unfinished work prior to his death in 2001. It's a mixed bag of different styles that showcases his evolution as an artist. There are noteworthy originals here along with rerecorded versions of Merry Christmas and Life's a Gas by the Ramones. The originals are the steel and muscle of this album. Rock and Roll is the Answer is well produced, relevant, and 100% radio worthy. It has an AC/DC like sound to its guitar and grabs your attention immediately. Other greats include the heavier "Nowhere Fast", "There's Got to Be More to Life", and the more pop-style "Party Line". The album isn't without its skip-worthy songs, such as "New York City" and "Make Me Tremble", but I wouldn't rate them as unlistenable and they didn't make me regret the purchase.Because of its rarity, and thus the cost that comes with it, I can only recommend this version of the album to collectors and dedicated Ramones fans. For those who just want to listen to the music without paying a premium, you can pick up the CD by itself at a more affordable price.

The Best! Ya Know?
I'm loving Joey's second (posthumous) solo album. It is great to hear Joey's voice again, singing these new songs.Ya Know is not just a punk album-there is a lot of range here. The 15 songs also flow exceptionally well together with a top notch production. The album kicks off with the upbeat "Rock N Roll is the Answer".A very rocking song to get you going."Going Nowhere Fast" and New York City" could have been on a Ramones album. The anthemic latter is like a punk rock "Empire State of Mind" (with lyrics like "The Ritz and the Cat Club,Pyramid and Limelight").Other highlights for me include "Seven Days of Gloom"("Seven days of gloom, here in my room.If it wasnt for Stooges my life would be doomed").Great song with backing vocals by the handsome one Dick Manitoba. The Phil Spectorish "Party Line" is just a heavinly song Joey sings with Holly Beth Vincent of Holly and the Italians. Then there is the honkeytonk punk of "I Coudn't Sleep" and the country-influenced "Waiting for That Railroad".The album closes with the pretty acoustic version of "Life's a Gass" with chimes that sounds very bittersweet.Ya Know? is a truly must have for every Ramones fan (or rock fan in general).

Don't be sad at all.
I will tell you the story behind this album. Producer Daniel Rey had possession of several demos that Joey Ramone recorded before his untimely passing. Joey's family asked for the demos, but Rey refused to turn them over. So a lawsuit was brought against Rey. Several years later, a settlement was reached and the family got the demos. Additional instruments and vocals were added to the demos to give them a fuller sound. They did a good job of making an album that Joey would have been proud of.

Joey's brother did justice
Joey Ramone remains on of the best in Punk and the gems are fantastic. Joey's brother got it right with the music of his late brother who would have been proud of this. The feelings are there as well as Joey's musical style.Kudos to his brother who put the tracks he found and set it to music. the Band is fantastic. I say buy this if you haven't done so.you will not regret it.15 of the best songs I have ever heard

Better than I thought it would be
After Joey's posthumous solo album in 2002, I didn't really have high expectations when this album came out 10 years later. I was wrong. This album blows away that 2002 album (I hate to say it, but that album was, eh. Not good not bad, just eh.) Check out "Rock 'n Roll Is The Answer", "Make Me Tremble", or "Waiting For That Railroad". We still miss you Joey, Ya Know?

Joey
