Still loving the story
Blood Awakening is the second book in the Awakening Series by Akaria Gale. I got this book from Library Things' member review giveaway). I saw another reviewer that said she was lost without reading Angel Awakening (which does fully end). Me, I think you can start with Blood Awakening and not be too lost. You're not getting the background on the characters, but as far as the storyline goes, not reading book one won't hurt all that much. Before you get too far into this review, I will tell you this one does end with a bit of a cliffhanger, if you want to call it that. The actual story, that of Kissera and Luc, does resolves itself. The background story is what I'd call the cliffhanger, or a look how book three will start. Okay, onward with the review... I really enjoyed book one and this one was no different. All the major characters from book one were in this one too, although it's Kissera's and Lucifer's story. I liked the interaction between the five main characters. They have depth and there's a lot of snarky comebacks. I thought Kissera was kind of a B@#$% in the first book, but I liked getting to know her character more. And Luc would be a blast to hang out with.…The story had a nice pace and it flowed nicely between the various scenes. There was enough action to keep your interest. There are sex scenes in this story, but well thought out and not over the top. Actually, they were just right, not going on for pages, but it got the point across. I'm interesting to see what happens in the next story.

Unique with a great plot!
Fantastic story. I didn't read the guest one but never felt like I was missing some information. The author has a lively writing style that keeps a good pace for the book. There is plenty happening so you are never bored now does it feel dragged out. The plot of this book is very different from most vampire or demon stories, which makes this a gem. you are thrown into a new world of the supernatural.Kissera is an interesting heroine protecting those she loves. She grows in this story to an even stronger character. Lucifer is different than ever before. He actually reminded me of the new series Lucifer, and I admit I like this one much better.I really enjoyed this book. Thanks to a captivating cliff hanger, I will read the next one as soon as possible.Voluntary review of Advance Reader Copy. I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the publisher.
