Big BarkerBackseat Barker: SUV Edition (Orthopedic Shock-Absorbing Dog Bed for Back of Sport Utility Vehicles)

I had gone out on a limb and tried a regular big barker…I was so hesitant because of the cost and fear that my pups wouldn’t like it. 10 of 10 would absolutely do it again. I ended up buying a second bed and then needed something for them in the back of the car. I have an 83lb and a 100lb lab that ride in my Chevy Sonic hatchback. We lay down the seats and they get the back seat and trunk area. Now, the back of seats isn’t comfortable at all but bless their hearts they weathered it. No more! I bought this in a large so that I could turn it do the pillowed sides were oriented toward the front seats and back of the vehicle; allowing for the most coverage of my cargo area. Doing this is a pretty dang good fit. When oriented with the pillowed sides toward the rear passenger doors is a bit of a snug fit but still fits just fine. Will absolutely buy again if/when I need to.

I've had a few Big Barker beds and they are all great. Their quality and costumer support are unquestioned. All of their beds are relatively expensive, however, in my opinion, these SUV beds are particularly overpriced. A 24" wide bed for 180 dollars just seems excessive. Big Barker has a particular competitor that manufactures VERY similar products, of equal quality, at more affordable prices. However, that competitor, surprisingly does not making their own version of this SUV bed. That being said, because Big Barker seems to be the only company on the market that makes beds like these, I do not regret my purchase... despite the fact that it is a little embarrassing to have paid so much to fill the back of my 2017 Mazda CX-5. I have two Great Danes and wanted bedding that would fully cover the back of my CX-5, and a small and a medium do the trick nicely. Other reviews have state that there are many lower priced alternatives, but none point to those alternatives. I have been unable to find any other worthy, quality competitors in this form factor, so I do not regret the purchase.

I am highly disappointed because this product is very expensive but the materials used in the product is cheap.Considering the price, I was hoping that it will be leak proof and clear instruction will be available inside the box - how to assemble the product.Just adding a simple assembly instructions (1 page ) with steps 1 , 2, 3 will help customers tremendously and it should not cost the merchant more that 5 cents.

It’s barely decent. The fluffy padding shown in the pictures is not what is received. There is barely stuffing in the sides. The fit is also not as tight as shown (even though I got the recommended size for my car). Is much smaller than the space (several inches short on each side). Overall disappointing.

I have a Volkswagen Cross Sport. I purchased the large Big Barker dog bed. The both loved it…They both had enough room to lay down…

We have an Xterra that we bought for carting ourselves around as well as our dogs (2 Alaskan Malamutes). We love the fold down flat nature of the back and the rubberized surface for easy cleaning. However, it’s slippery and it’s a little hard for them when traveling distance. So, I started searching for a cushion for the back that would support two dogs who are each over 100 pounds and wouldn’t slip and slide on corners. I found it in the Big Barker. It’s great. It can go in the back two ways - horizontally with bolsters on the side in the cargo area with back seats up or rotated to lay flat lengthwise with the back seats folded down. The dogs love it - no more scrabbling around as we drive. They get in, flop down, and enjoy their ride. I especially like that I can turn it horizontally with seats up so that I don’t have to take it out and try to store it when I’m not running dogs around - it is bulky and does not fold up easily. But, I wasn’t expecting that as I prefer being able to have it in the back of the truck at all times. Well worth the cost, easy to surface clean, and 2 paws up from the dogs.

We purchased this Big Barker model for the back of my husband's Toyota RAV4. We fold the back seats down for her all the time, so she has the most room possible - she is a GSD. We purchased the largest one available, and it still could be almost double the size to fully cover the entire area - as a large dog owner and a Big Barker customer, PLEASE make these in larger sizes! Also, in my Highlander, we use a full sized purple mattress, due to the fact that we can get a thicker orthopedic foam (7"). This is one of the things we love about the Big Barker beds for in the house - we would LOVE to see the SUV model with the same thickness for our older GSD - I'm not sure why this model only comes with the 4" base instead of the thicker foam, especially since it has been proven how much better it is for the dogs. Other than that, this stands up to all of the usual Big Barker standards. Just PLEASE make it larger and thicker so it really hits all of the Big Barker qualities we expect from such a great company!

I have a Subaru Forester and two huge Bernese Mt Dogs, we travel a lot to camp. My girl almost 9yrs needed support and comfort. This fits perfect & they both look at me like why would we want to get out we are comfortable. Plus it helps her stability as she feels more in control around turns. This was the best investment. I was worried as it’s not something I can really afford, but I am so glad I bought it for them ( early Christmas & BD) I might be sleeping on it with then at one night camp areas instead of setting up the tent. 😂 Love this bed. Also bought protection cover for after those rainy or muddy hikes.
