It’s not textured for that. Maybe if you worked in a kitty litter factory and your feet were shaped like paws this mat would be perfect. **Q: What are the sizes of the Xlarge and XX large mats?** A: XX-Large is: 47.2 x 35.6 x 0.2 inches and the X-Large is: 35 x 23 x 0.2 inches **Q: My cats sometimes scratch at the litter mat (I use the rubbery kind) & after a while it looks terrible & I need to replace them. The fiber elements are bound to the mat base thermally and the mat is crossed with thermal bound compressions. Try to align your cuts so you keep as much of the bound compressions around the edge intact. One way I clean mine is to shake it out while rotating the mat. This shakes out most of the loose entangled litter particles. Then I wash it with soap and a garden hose. You shouldn't have too much fraying of the mat's fiber elements. You can also use a hot glue gun and run a thick bead of glue around the perimeter of the area trimmed to reinforce the cut areas. Hope this helps. I love my mat, it captures particles that would normally be carried a distance from the box. Arrange the mat so the cats have to travel across it's length.
