Haunted House, The (Mini House Books) Board book – Pop up, 9 Jan. 1994

I purchased it for my 3 years old daughter and can say that she loves it and the size is perfect for her small hands and can be taken for a walk or trip as well. Not much written, however enough for her age to keep her excited and busy.Please note: different children finds different things more or less interesting, thus you need to consider it too.

All the Peter Lippman Mini House books are lovely. We display them proudly on the bookshelf, as they are not just books, they are mini art-works. The Haunted House in particular, is one of the best of the series, with a lovely rhyming story, and particularly effective as a 3D artwork. It's about the right level of 'scary' for a baby/toddler, as it raises interest without being too gory or terrifying. The story ends with a reassuring 'and it was all a dream' scenario, which is comforting to young children. A nice Halloween gift, but a good read all year round. I'd say aimed at children under 6. It's a nice little chunky book (but don't let your baby chew it!).
