My husband did some research and luckily found this before beginning demolition. It solves 3 problems: it mounts on top of the chimney so no need for demolition, it provides a cover over the flu so no more rain water coming down the chimney and thirdly it provides a significant savings of heat. Typically I can always feel a slight breeze where I sit in the living room caused by the fireplace drawing heat up the chimney. Not any more! We were wondering if it was going to be difficult to pull down the cable to close the damper due to reviews we read but it was not, actually I find it to be easy. Review: Good product, GREAT support. - No issues with the install, no problems with operation...FANTASTIC customer support!! Immediate response to my questions, very helpful, made my interaction very positive. ## Features - Professional Grade Quality: These high-quality dampers are designed by professional chimney sweeps and guaranteed to provide an energy efficient and cost-effective option when sealing the top of your chimney. - The Energy Top Plus Damper features a soft, pliable rubber gasket seal attached to the frame that compresses and conforms to the lid when closed, while also acting as a chimney cap. - Designed with a cast-aluminum lid and stronger spring, this damper is easier to open and close while still creating an air-tight seal at the top of the chimney. - The Energy Top Plus Dampers are made for use only with open, wood burning masonry fireplace chimneys, and are not suitable for use on chimneys serving vented gas logs. - The Energy Top Plus Damper does not require a fire safety device, is made of the highest quality material, allowing for easy operation, and comes completely assembled and ready to install. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B01G7JG470 | | Additional Features | Energy Efficient | | Best Sellers Rank | #2,451,092 in Home & Kitchen ( See Top 100 in Home & Kitchen ) #394 in Fireplace Chimney Caps | | Brand Name | US Fireplace Products | | Chamber Depth | 12.5 Inches | | Color | Stainless Steel | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars (17) | | Finish Types | Polished | | Heating Element | wood-burning | | Included Components | Mounting hardware, 30' cable with handle and adhesive | | Installation Type | Self-installation | | Item Dimensions D x W x H | 13"D x 13"W x 9.75"H | | Item Weight | 3 Pounds | | Manufacturer | US FIREPLACE PRODUCTS | | Material Type | Aluminum, Stainless Steel | | Maximum Compatible Size | 13 Inches | | Model Name | Top Damper Plus | | Model Number | ETP1313 | | Orientation | Vertical | | Power Source | Manual | | Shape | rectangular prism" or "square | | Specific Uses For Product | Open, wood burning masonry fireplace chimneys (not suitable for use on chimneys serving vented gas logs) | | Style Name | Traditional | | UPC | 633210594559 | | Ventilation Type | Vented | | Warranty Type | Limited Lifetime Warranty | ## Product Details - **Brand:** US Fireplace Products - **Color:** Stainless Steel - **Finish Type:** Polished - **Installation Type:** Self-installation - **Material:** Aluminum, Stainless Steel - **Power Source:** Manual - **Product Dimensions:** 13"D x 13"W x 9.75"H - **Special Feature:** Energy Efficient - **Style:** Traditional - **Ventilation Type:** Vented ## Images ![Energy Top Plus - Low Profile Damper Suitable for Wood Burning Fireplaces, 13" x 13" - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81PgbiDVquL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product *by D***B on January 12, 2021* The damper inside our flu rusted and fell apart after 25 years and the outside facing is built with granite stone which meant taking that all apart!
