Review: Great product - This is a good product and feels very rugged. I wanted something with high capacity for a cost that was not going to break me and pretty good speeds. It's portable, great value for money, and a very high capacity. Of course it would have been lovely to get an SSD drive of this capacity for the same price, but that's just not going to happen at the moment. I am really happy with it, it's double the size the drive I replaced, and usually writes files at 100 + megabytes per second which in all honesty is well fast enough for me.

**Q: Hello, would I be able to transfer my files (mainly pictures) from windows Vista to this?**
A: Yer no problem I transferred all of mine

**Q: is usb cable itself detachable so that replacement of broken cable is easy or is it built in connection to main unit so not easily replaced if broke**
A: The cable is detachable, and has a micro-B USB and a usb A.  Its not the cable I'd worry about though; the drive I got was mostly dead sectors.

**Q: The title of the item states usb 3.1, yet if you scroll to the technical spec section it states usb 3.0? which usb spec is it?**
A: I'm using it on USB 3.0 computer. However, on the box it shows "USB 3.1 Ready", so I assume there will be an upgrade at some stage for an improvement on USB 3.0 systems.

**Q: Is this usb external hard drive shown as 'removable storage device' or a hard disk drive (hdd) on the laptop/pc drives & partitions explorer?**
A: I use it as a removeable drive a bit like a large  USB  memory stick

This is a good product and feels very rugged. I wanted something with high capacity for a cost that was not going to break me and pretty good speeds. It's portable, great value for money, and a very high capacity. Of course it would have been lovely to get an SSD drive of this capacity for the same price, but that's just not going to happen at the moment. I bought this knowing that I needed something tough as it gets thrown around in a bag. It’s fitted lots on it and has a great protective shell which is just what I needed. My only slight niggle would be a slightly longer connection cable but I’m sure I can buy one separately. Would buy again.
