Pros:- Sturdy build - even with all the empty spaces, it remains solid- Lots of empty spaces for air flow - you can be sure at least SOME air will flow over the drives (which can't be said of other brands).Cons:- Lots of empty spaces - it should be cheaper as it appears less material is used, presumably :)- The adapter would centre the drive i.e. you cannot use this to fit a 2.5" onto a 3.5" hot plug backplane.Originally I used a Silverstone 2x2.5" to 1x3.5" adapter to mount 2 of my SSDs. There's nothing wrong with it, except that the base is a solid piece of metal, which limits the amount of cooling I can provide. It wasn't much of a problem but being an OCD, it bugs me to no end.I was delighted to find this Salcar. It's basically a frame with holes everywhere. So in a case, it allows at least some air to flow around the drives. It is also very solidly built despite being just a frame. I used the screws provided to mount my 2 SSDs on to the frame and use the case screws to screw the frame onto the drive cage. No complication at all.For those who use hot plug back plane, note that this won't fit. You need to buy a converter that ensure the 2.5" connection lines up just like a 3.5". This adapter will centre the drives so things won't line up.

Good quality kit, that comes with all the screws, spacers, and wires you'd ever need to mount a 2.5" drive in a 3.5" space. Took only a couple of minutes for me to get a new Samsung SSD mounted and connected up into my desktop PC.Everything looked good, solid quality and the price was extremely reasonable. Would definitely buy another Salcar product based on my experience with this.

When I fitted a 2.5 inch Hard Drive in the way demonstrated in the product images I was not able to fit the mounted 2.5inch Hard Drive and mounting plate into the location in my PC I wanted to due to the hard drive attaching screws underneath mounting plate coming into contact with mounting bay in my PC. This raised the height of the Salcar mounting plate and stopped the screw holes from aligning.I had to mount the hard drive on the other side of the Salcar mounting plate and put it in upside down. This is not a big problem but is a design fault in my opinion. Also they could have designed it with holes to attach a 2nd 2.5inch hard drive on the other side quite easily.Its does the job and is solidly made but if your thinking of getting a second hard drive in the future might be better to look for a mounting plate that allows this.

Good little investment.I'm happy to say that this item worked great. I had read concerns regarding some of these caddies giving slow read/write speeds or not connecting a full speed. I can say that I am getting the best connection available to my HP. Read/write tests also indicate speeds consistant with the stated connection. Some people complained about the metal being flimsy. For me it is as sturdy as it needs to be, once it's installed and secured I can't see why that would be a concern, I won't be taking the caddy in and out. Again this worked great.Very simple installation; fantastic plastic spacer in the drive bay itself to make installing/removing the SATA drive a cinch.

I used this with a 120gb Samsung 750 evo SSD. The SSD fits on the bracket and screws in perfectly with what's given in the pack. The bracket itself fits into one of my 3.5in HDD slots in my case and fits as if it were a standard HDD.I'm glad it comes with molex extender as my poor cabling has left everthing tangled and tight. The SATA cable was also useful as I was not provided one with my Samsung SSD.

Arrived the following day with prime, caddy is metal, not plastic as some are, and it came with 8 screws and 4 rubber spacers to lift the drive off the base. there are ventilation holes in the caddy to keep the drive cool. I didn't need the cables but this was the best value for money. well worth it..

This is an excellent kit with everything you need to mount a 2.5" drive into the larger bay in a desktop PC. When I say everything there is a power collector/adapter cable for those PCs that lack the right connector, the SATA data cable, the mount itself and the screws to put it all together. With this kit there is no need for that anoying dash to the shop to get the odd missing items it is all there.Oh you might like to check you have a screw driver first...Well recommended for its planned use.

It's a good kit and gets the job done for a fair price. The only Niggle is that some of the screws are to long and you have to use the spacers (provided with kit) to fix the ssd or it could be damaged by the long screws. IMHO The kit should be provided with shorter screws for the SSD fitting and do away with the spacers. Hence the drop of 1 star in the rating. All is good though and it's nice and sturdy 😊

Diesen Rahmen habe ich mir schon vor längerer Zeit für den Einbau einer Crucial MX300 525 GB SSD (https://amzn.to/38alvHE) gekauft und die Montage ging ohne Probleme, genauso wie die darauffolgende Installation in meinem damaligen Tower. Mittlerweile ist sie in einem MSI Gungnir 100P (https://amzn.to/3ntSSvd) verbaut und auch hier verlief alles ohne Probleme. Die Qualität des Rahmens ist angemessen, sodass er sich zwar bei grober Krafteinwirkung verbiegen lassen ließe, aber das sollte ja eigentlich nicht der Fall sein. Die Schrauben passten haargenau und ich empfinde die Verwendung als äußerst angenehm. Bei dem Preis kann man auch nicht meckern und macht nichts falsch: Daher volle fünf Sterne!

Le chassis est bien en métal et non plastique !Je l'ai utilisé pour installer un SSD dans un boîtier sans place 2.5, j'ai donc acheté celui-ci qui était vraiment pas chère. Et franchement même si le boîtier est fermé, je trouve que le châssis est très beau et passerai bien dans un boîtier avec vitre !J'avoue avoir pris celui-ci, car il y a un câble sata de fournil, chose pratique n'ayant pas eu de câble sata avec le SSD !J'ai galéré avec le bout de caoutchouc, mais c'est normal étant donné leurs tailles !Sans hésiter, j'en rachèterai un si besoin !

Es un adaptador robusto y bien preparado, se monta sin problema. Me gustan los separadores que permiten elevar el disco de 2,5 para que se mantenga refrigerado. Solo sirve para un disco de 2,5 pulgadas. Los conectores no los he necesitado, pero supongo que a alguien le pueden venir muy bien.
