A must have for all Crossfit coaches
This was recommended to me by a high level coach I worked with 36 years ago, in the beginning phase of our coaching journey. I made contact after all those years and we both cross suggested the best books we'd found. This was one of his suggestions, and it's a really good reference book for your shelf. If you are coaching a WOD and you just need to brush up on your cues, or breakdown movements, it hits the spot. I would like to have seen more corrective cues and coaching but the book is large enough as it is.I've already recommended it to a number of the younger coaches and those that were sceptical, came back highly enthusiastic, and are openly using and referring to it.I had a particularly interesting coaching experience using an incorrect cue with a literal client (I've only had one in 36+ years of coaching so it took me by surprise).Throw the bar overhead, cumulated in an olympic barbell being thrown... my bad, the client did exactly as I said, and was smart enough to get out of the way as the thrown bar landed. All of the coaches were dumbstruck, then realised maybe our words were wrong.Never assume the client knows what you mean, so by using the correct coaching explanations, it means the same wherever you go.

Provides instructions in a very straight forward and informative way that I can relay to clients easier.........
The book has changed the way I now plan my classes. I'm a relatively new Trainer (this is my 5th year qualified) . I do strength classes , circuits etc at present. I have a Oly Coach who coaches me once a week and runs a session at my place to a class of which I also partake. I consider myself still a total beginner in Oly lifting but I'm very pleased with my progress and hope to take my level 1 coaching next year. Your book has assisted me in a way that although not at present in the future I will be able to bring more complex movements into my classes. My classes are not crossfit and neither do they claim to be but I'm confident that now I can begin to introduce more complex movements confidently and feel that the book provides me with a checklist to decide on whether the class member is indeed ready to move on! It's provided the instructions in a very straight forward and informative way that I can relay to clients easier than anything else I've ever read! I guess this is just a thank you and I genuinely think that this book along with my current Oly Coach, my business partner(who is a Physiotherapist) will all ensure my success for years to come!
