Frentaly UNO Proto Shield Prototype Expansion Board with SYB-170 Mini Breadboard Based for Arduino UNO ProtoShield

This was fantastically easy to use and blended in well with the Arduino UNO. I made my circuit using 5 transistors, 5 diodes all connected into the VIN pin for 12volt operation, WITHOUT the need to solder! I am driving 5 electroluminescence (El) wires each of which are 23 feet in a short chase sequence (each on then off then all on in sequence and all off in reverse sequence). Now I can change these circuits out as well as the Arduino script whenever I need to without unsoldering.

I received these a little while ago, I am not happy that I can not stack an WiFi board on top,Work around could be an I2C WiFi board,I was very unhappy that 3 pins were badly bent over 2 on one corner and another on the other row.Attention to protecting them a lot better would be good idea.I bent them straight and it seams to be okaytime will tell when I connect to the 3 pins

Nice little board. One missed opportunity is the offset pin arrangement. So, I removed the shield pins that go to the arduino, and added Arduino stackable headers. Along with the existing offset headers, now I have 2 connections for each arduino pin, handy for monitoring signals. Then I scooted the breadboard over and added a header along the ground pin row, so I now have unlimited (effectively) ground points. With those changes, this is a great board that starts as 4 stars and is now at 5 stars.

This is very well built, and far more solid than I had expected. It has no semblance of the fragility or cheapness I had expected when I ordered it. It has undocumented buttons, LEDs and contacts that are probably very useful; I just haven't yet stumbled across what they are for. A single quarter-page of paper included in the package with a schematic or description of features included with the board would have made this a 5-star review.This product is useful if you want to breadboard a fairly small circuit right on top of the Arduino UNO itself, literally. This plugs into the top of the UNO, extending all the UNO's I/O pins up into the workspace, which is nice sometimes when you don't want to have them side-by-side with jumpers dragging things around while you tinker. I have often thought it would be nice if the UNO came built on a board with a prototype area in the middle and all of the UNO's components strung around the perimeter, so I could build everything in one spot; this is an improved version of that concept - it is removable, swappable, and very durable.

It took me a while to figure out how to use this board. I believe that (contrary to previous reviews), my grounds are all connected. However, I did not immediately realize that there are two extra LEDs which can be used in your sketches. Unfortunately, I had to solder in my own header strip to use one of the LEDs, and the resistor connecting to the other LED broke between the PCB and the resistor (had to solder a new 220 ohm resistor). Other than those two items, the board seems to work fine, although I have not tried to do too many fancy things with it yet.

As mentioned by other reviewers, very poor assembly quality. Headers not installed straight against the pcb, poor solder joints, holes not centered with the copper pads, etc.

Header does not connect another shield on top. SCL/SDA not available.

The bread board is just like any other you can find with a double sided foam tape backing. The proto board is not stackable or modifiable to be stackable. The lengthwise strips are already designate 5v and gnd thwarting my plans for an i2c bus.

Pleased with this item. Header pins could be longer to avoid making contact with Arduino USB connector (or E-net connector on E-shields) but this is a common problem among shields so was expected. Tip: solder either a male or female header into the three pins (for the two LEDs and one pushbutton switch) before using as it will make connecting to these much simpler. If you plan to use ICSP header then solder that on, too.I would prefer that the headers remained vertically in-line instead of in-setting by 0.1 inch. That would allow more board real estate and the option to stack more shields including more protoshields. But, for the price I still gave it 5 stars.Over-all, handy for simple prototypes and I am happy to recommend it. -AU

Bei dem hier von "highqualityforyou(in Hong Kong)" angebotenen Shield handelt es sich um einen völlig legalen Klon (ist NICHT als Adafruit-Prudukt gelabelt!) des *Proto Shield for Arduino Kit - v.5* von Adafruit.Adafruit selbst hat Produktion und Vertrieb dieses Produkts eingestellt (auf deren Website verifizierbar) und durch eine ver(änderte/besserte) Version ersetzt, sodass DIESES Shield nur noch als Klon eines anderen Herstellers bezogen werden kann.Das zugehörige Schaltschema gibt es hier:--> [...]Fazit: Kaufempfehlung

Nahezu jeden Tag habe ich dieses Shield im Gebrauch. Bisher ist nichts defekt und es genügt von den Ansprüchen her vollständig. Probleme mit Kontakten, etc. sind bisher noch nicht aufgetreten, Die Zusendung war ebenfalls innerhalb von 8 Tagen vor Ort. Also alles easy.

Had some problems with getting a 20x4 LCD screen to work with this and found some dry joints on the connectors. Re-soldered and all now OK, but shouldn't really have had to repair it.

Great for small projects. Has 5each 5v power and ground pins.
