Dog Harness Lead Car Travel Puppy Clip Seat Belt Hi-Craft Guard Large Walk

Had one of these years ago for a GSD. Need to restrain new dog in car &, having trawled through all the options on offer these days, was glad to find these are still available (and don't cost any more than other types of restraint). They are very strong & I am sure would not snap in the event of a crash. AND they've been on the market for years & aren't just jumping on the new legal requirements bandwagon. The reasons these are better than the ones that clip into the seat belt catch - the dog cannot accidentally hit the button & release itself; the dog has a lot of scope for movement but the inertia of the seat belt makes it secure in an accident. How these work - you fasten the seat belt then you wrap the extension on the back of the harness around the shoulder strap of the seat & clip the harness strap closed. This means that the harness bit can slide up & down the seat belt strap & also if the dog doesn't move too fast & activate the seat belt inertia mechanism, there is plenty of play for the dog to stand up, lie down, turn around. However, in the event of a sudden stop or whatever, the built in inertia of the main seat belt kicks in & prevents the dog being flung forward. Dead clever! Best of both worlds. Tip - put harness on dog before you put him in car, then simply fasten him in as above.

I have had this harness for all my dogs & to travel in the car, it is perfect. Unlike the other harnesses I have tried this doesn't require the seat belt to be done up to use it & this means your dog can move about with ease without getting tangled. It is not so good as a walking harness though as the back strap, that clips around the seat belt, even when done up is a little to long for a dog that walks to heal. I use a different harness to walk.

Researched a lot before ordering this one. Having received and used it a few time, I'm very pleased with it. It is a little tricky to put it on, but any Dog harness is going to be. Take a little practise, but it's worth it for the safety of my 4 legged friend. It fits comfortably on 40kg GSD with a little room to spare, but if he grows any more, I'll need to get the next size up.

Sturdy hareness for bulldog

Good harness and easy to clip in and out of the car but not as sturdy as the one it replaced of the same make.

after trying more expensive brands that did not fit my EBT properly this harness was a last resort and what a bargain, fits a treat and no more tangles in the car
