Flying Fortress
This is a project for a rainy winter as opposed to a rainy day. It is huge. Any aircraft modeller would love it.

THE B-17 Model!
B-17 modelers have asked for a kit in this scale for many years, now here it is! Don't be put off by the price of the kit, the kit is worth every penny, this is the kit I have been waiting for. Upon opening the box, you see the quality of the kit, attention to detail and everything just looks right. I test fit several of the larger parts such as the wings and found everything fit just right. I have not built my kit yet, I am waiting for the winter and the slow time in my outdoor job, and to see what after market products will be produced. Already I see that Eduard has a masking after market kit out. There are sure to be other producers putting out after market products for use with this kit. A nice, ordered instruction booklet is a plus. just from looking over the booklet I saw many possibilities for extra detail, not that many of these are already in the kit. The cockpit is well appointed, and all crew station as well. Guns, ammo belts ammo belts and boxes support the gun turrets it's a shame that some of this detail will be hidden inside the bomber. This kit will build into a late war B-17G with a Cheyenne tail turret, a first for me, but this allows the modeler to think about modeling one of several B-17s still operational and flying most of which are of the late type with the Cheyenne turret, which is what my plans for this kit are. Detail abounds in this kit, it should at this scale. A fret of photo-etched brass screens is there to use in covering the inlets on the leading edge. No more open holes there. Also, there are deployed flaps and the wing structure is there so no scratch building needed there. The modeler should really enjoy this kit, it looks fantastic. The only problem I had was that the decal sheet was in my opinion very lacking with only one aircraft featured. Attention after market decal makers your services are needed. Otherwise this is going to be a great build. Oh and by the way, according to HK Models, they will be producing a 1/32 Memphis Belle kit soon. So there will be another B-17 build in my future

Tired of seeing Over Priced 1/32 Scales Models
What's up with the OVER PRICING of these 1/32 scale models these days? I've followed this model for over a year now, and it has ranged in price from $300 up to as much as $800. It may be a nice kit but, unless it has R/C capabilities and comes with lights, it should be priced at around $179!!!
