Perfect fit for a classic filing cabinet
The Newstar Push-pin oval lock from 'Go Door Handle' is an exact fit in my ancient Roneo filing cabinet. It matches the dimensions shown on the drawings here, and it replaces the original Yale oval lock.The only differences are the Newstar is nickel plated while the original is solid brass, and of course a new key code.I unexpectedly lost the last key of the original, and being in a deadline hurry to access the contents I drilled it out! Scarily, it only took me three minutes from desperately deciding to drill to gather tools and open the cabinet. Not exactly secure!Replacement later was simple, but fiddly and time consuming, requiring the top of the cabinet to be removed and a few tricks of the trade in securing hidden loose nuts and washers during re-assembly.
