In the bad ol' days, leaded solder was used for plumbing drinking water lines. However, the lead gave the solder more "body" and it was relatively easy to have the joint be filled.Now that lead has been removed, solder tends to be "thin", so it melts fine, but doesn't fill the joints as well. Any sort of a gap in the joint could result in a pinhole, which will result in a dreaded leak. If the pipe was vertical, the gravity would work reasonably well to help fill the joints. However, if the pipe is horizontal, gravity would pull the solder out of the upper part of the joint, leaving a dark gap. I'm pretty Old School about these being a potential leak, and will spend extra time to try to fill them with a 2nd (or 3rd) application of solder. With each new roll of solder, I was on a quest for one that would fill the joint.I have tried other "silver bearing" solders, but Bridge-It is the BEST for filling the joint consistently. It isn't as thick as the leaded solder, but it does fill the joints nicely. It is my Go To solder for plumbing projects.I also use their flux. It may be the same as the NoKorode I used in the past, but it has a handy brush attached to the lid. That way I don't have a gooey acid brush lying around. The flux doesn't discolor the copper, so it is as good as NoKorode. That said, I do solder within about 30 minutes, so I don't leave the flux on for very long.

I am designing and building surface mix torches for glassblowing and it is necessary to fill in gaps where other solders just drip through. The ability of this solder to stay within the gaps to make connections and seal the tubes from gas leakage is incredible. The mushy point is extremely useful for making these seals. I recommend highly.

Great lead-free solder. Extremely strong and fills very well with loose fittings. Also has a wide "mushy" stage to aid building up joints and "capping". Especially on larger fittings.Have used on all metals except steel and aluminum. Temp range similar to 50/50 on the low end with similar workability only much stronger.Perfect for general plumbing, A/C and Refrigeration. Especially higher vibration areas. Beats 95/5 hands down for workability and strength.

The only one I have used in the past 30 years. Excellent product.
