Not an easy set up but great power awaits you at the end
I can't lie to the people- these are not easy to set up if you are not handy and patient. I'm pretty darn good at this kind of stuff and I had to work really hard to understand these instructions. It's clear the manufacturer does not speak native English and that's FINE but given this is a really small set-up card, it would probably be worth the couple hundred dollar investment for them (and create less returns) if they had the instructions professionally translated. That said, after an hour of fiddling with them and trying to get them to connect via bluetooth (abandon that mission people- it doesn't work), I finally figured it out once I scrolled all the way to the bottom of the set up page and chose wi-fi. They have this option pretty far buried so if you get frustrated and give up too soon, you might miss it. Once I did that, it was smooth sailing. In the app, I renamed my two lamps from "smart socket" to "Desk lamp" & "Couch lamp" respectively, quickly enabled the skill in Alexa, and I am now commanding lights at my whim. It's pretty awesome.

Bought a two pack, one died, emailed support telling them one died and they replied back asking if one died LOL get something be
I've had on totally just due on me and one that frequently needs reconnected to WiFi. I have very strong AC router pushing 2.4ghz as well as dual band AC and it's 20 feet away so my WiFi is NOT the issue. I emailed the seller weeks ago and have yet to hear back and now I don't even think I can exchange the one that went bad. I emailed them and told them one went bad and I got a reply that said one went bad? And so I replied saying yes one of them is bad and I haven't heard a word back and now I can't get a refund or exchange so I cannot recommend buying these get the higher price ones with the better internal components and you'll be much better off. I bought two from tp-link which is a well-known brand and yes they were a little more expensive but I've never had a single issue with either one of them and they've been used daily for 4 months so far without one single reset issue or power issue

Four plugs and none would pair with amazon echo!!!!!
Setup is extremely frustrating. After finally downloading and linking the Smart Life app, I also had to download and link Tuya Smart app per the instructions that came with plugs. Then it took several attempts to pair the plug to Alexa. The plug worked once and then became unresponsive.(wouldn't work!) Paired the plug a second time; same results. Paired the plug a third same. This time it worked 3 times and again, unresponsive!!!!! Enough is enough. I'm sending it back to amazon.com.Update 7/30/20128: I received a second set of plugs today. Same thing as first set, unresponsive. I could turn plug on and off with the Tuya Smart app but, Alexa app could not pair with either plug.took another reviewers advice and ordered TP-Link amazon choice, amazon certified.

Clunky, Hard to Understand, Instructions Don't Make Sense
Post-review:Figured out how to use/pair it with Google Home Mini:a) In google, go to 'Control Home Devices'b) Click "Add Device"c) Choose 'Smart Life' icond) It will ask you to register/link to your phone number, and it will also ask if you are using Tuya Smart app or the Smart Life app - so you don't necessarily need to download the Smart Life appe) It will then automatically link your devicesNote: if you add a new Smart Plug - and want to link it to google home mini again - you will need to unlink the Smart Life app and then re-link.###Says it works with Google Home, but it doesn't. For starters, instructions are very and awkward and hard to understand. You'll have to use whatever intuition you have to set it up. Also, it seems to be built to work with Amazon only - the instructions only detail how to install it on Amazon devices. Also, it's not clear if this can be controlled when you're away from home. Will have to try it tomorrow and see.Within your house though, and using their TuyaApp - it works fine. I don't see the benefit though of being able to control appliances only when you're in the house... for example, I can just as well get up and turn on light switches myself.

I love it
I loved the item so much. Very convenient to activate things from your smartphone. You only need to download the TuyaSmart app and link it via wi-fi and voila, you can turn things on/off at your convenience.Once set up everything has worked great.

Get an amazon certified plug! Dont get this
These are the absolute worst! I am extremely tech savvy and I fiddled with this for about an hour and was not able to get it to work. The instructions suck so I watched a video on you tube and still got no where. After several attempts we gave up and are now returning it. We ordered an amazon certified plug instead! Dont waste your time or money!

Modern Day Clapper
The outlets themselves work great, it becomes the modern day Clapper for my lights. It was a bit cumbersome connecting to Alexa. You have to go their site first to create an account, then you can connect to Alexa. You can control the outlets via their app but I bought them to work with Alexa.
