Really, really good
This is a lifesaver of a book. The language is clear and not pushy, drawings are relatable and quietly teach. At least 1/2 the text are the reflections of PDA teens with a lot of wisdom and variety of experiences. It's affirming of neurodivergence and PDA without being cloying or sugar-coating how it can be. The book is digestible, also respectful and appreciative of the young people in it who share their stories. My 10-year-old is, let's say, "teenage adjacent" and I've given it to them. Some parts aren't that relevant to them yet, but are not written in a way that feels developmentally too soon or over their head. I actually think this would be a good option to bring uninformed teachers or other professionals working with PDA youth into the know. You can read it in a 1/2 hour or so.

A highly accessible book to empower PDA teens and upskill those supporting them
This is a positive, neuro-affirming book for teens learning about PDA. What is really impressive about this book is the re-occuring theme of self advocacy as it is such a vital skill for young neurodivergent people. The author has a writing style which is light and upbeat, whilst covering difficult topics such as gender and sexuality within the context of PDA. This is pitched just right for teens without being too heavy, keeping the tone highly accessible for a PDA young person! If like me you have a teen who is currently unable to meet the demand of reading a book about PDA, do not fear as this book is superb for parents/carers and professionals! Its a great resource all round which will help to upskill and empower anyone supporting a PDA teen. Practical resources and clever illustrations also provide ample ideas for parents or professionals to deliver the information to the young person if they are unable to engage with the book. There are very few, if any books about PDA for teenagers so this is a fantastic addition to any PDA household or SEND library! Navigating the teenage years can be particularly challenging for PDA and neurodivergent young people - this guide will certainly illuminate the path through this tricky period! An additional bonus is the dyslexia friendly layout of the book - what a fantastic addition thank you!

A great book (not just) for teenagers!
Until now, most books on PDA have been written for adults. Finally, there is a book for teenagers! It gives a clear, comprehensive and clearly described overview of what PDA is and how it is experienced by PDAers. The book reads easily and gives you a good insight into PDA in a short reading time. However, this book is, in my opinion, not only for teenagers. It is certainly also suitable for parents, educators and health professionals who want to know more about PDA and (more importantly) want to (learn to) understand PDAers.I therefore recommend this book for everyone who wants to know more about PDA.

Get This Book!
Mom of a PDA teen, I read this book first and it was GREAT. I was VERY cautious about how I offered it to my teen but it looks like it is being read. If nothing else it helps them know they are not alone

I wish I’d read this years ago
The best I’ve ever had PDA explained to me. Must have for autism parents and people who work with young people with a PDA autism profile.
