Engine 54

I was familiar with some of the tracks on this from the 1980s Trojan 'Fabulous Reggae Hit Sound of the Ethiopians' LP, and thought I would check out the original source. As it transpires, the tracks that feature on the LP: 'Engine 54', 'Train to Skaville', 'Train to Glory' and 'Come On Now' are in my view the strongest tracks on the cd - but what fabulous tracks! This is an esential purchase if you don't have these tracks. I certainly have no regrets about buying the cd, as it's nice to have the original package. Some of the other material on it is quite good too, although there are also some over-sweet gooey tracks that I don't particularly like.

A great album on gorgeous orange vinyl.A must for your collection

Quite simply iconic, in many authentic reggae ways. The track title amongst a couple of others on this CD, is seriously melodious on both musical & vocal fronts.

A classic album ,one whose influence can be heard in the Reggae ,two tone and all the best beats since. The sweetest harmonies and and all out rythmic assault defy you not to jig around your lounge like a the crazy rude boy you know you really are.
