this has been a terrific device that has killed many thousands of flies. Unfortunately after just over 2 years it started to malfunction. EWC were simply excellent in their customer service, even sending out new starters when replacing the bulbs didn’t fix the issue. Eventually I just bought the whole thing again (that’s how useful we find them). 10/10 to EWC for being so helpful 👍

The item is actually quiet large - about the size of two lever-arch files placed side by side. OK for a large kitchen but not really suitable for a bedroom or Study or a small kitchen area. It is secured to the ceiling by a chain, not too dissimilar to a toilet chain attached to the both sides of the item at the top. It contains no wall-mounting brackets to secure it to a wall and the electrical lead is really quite short, only slightly longer than an electric kettle, thus reducing its deployment options to ceiling hanging on a short lead to a nearby socket.While the item itself may be effective to 'zap' a variety of insects: as a piece of kit, it could be made more versatile if there was a smaller version available with wall brackets and a longer electrical lead. However, for the price, you get what you pay for.

This Mega Zap certainly does the job for which it was intended. I was going to attempt placing the unit as high up the wall as possible. Unfortunately, the cable is only a little under three feet long. The packaging states that the unit can even be suspended from a ceiling but with such a short cable, this was not possible.Update. I have had this product now since July 2015 and it is still working 24-7 throughout the summer months. I have yet to change the bulbs so this unit has stood the test of time.UPDATE.I have had this unit now for 4 years and it certainly has been well worth the money. The unit is turned on in early spring and is on 24-7 until very late summer. It traps/kills no end of flying beasties. One bulb failed this week so not bad at all considering how long I have had this unit. I have recommended this unit to family and friends and they all just as pleased as I am.

Well made item. Good value for money and prompt delivery. My only slight adverse comment is that rather a lot of ex-fly body parts can 'ejct' around the immediate vicinity. The bottom tray is a little too narrow compared to the width of the 'grills'. I've used a cheap plastic 'garden tray' held by lightweight chains and hooked to the bottom of the unit. The tray is wide enough to catch even the largest post-babecue wasp!

I sort of expected this to instantly attract the flies and that they would all flock to it and get zapped. However this is more a long term process and when you consider that, it does the job well. You need to be careful where you place the device and ensure it gets installed in a darkened part of the affected room. When you do this it does start to slowly draw the flies to it and they then get zapped, definitely worth the money.

Effective against some types of insect, flies in particular, and reliable so far. Obviously any insect that comes into contact with the zappy grid is going to have a bad day, but not all insects are attracted to the light.It has a removable bottom tray and has metal brackets at the side with holes in so it can be hung from the wall or ceiling if requiredProbably overkill for my needs (for reference its about 50cm wide) but it gets the job done.

We have had this product for less than one year and the laps are already failing. We urn this overnight only, 5-6 days a week, so lets be generous and say 4000 hours. They claim 8500 hours life, which unfortunately is not the case, ther than that, it has been great at killing flies and moths.
