New Dell - Bad Results
Product used for general computer use at home. Damaged on arrival, plus major fault developed within a day of use. Computer sent away to supplier, repaired and delivered back within a couple of days, however, where i would have preferred a new replacement, the original was returned, still with damaged lid. Computer is still blowing quite a bit. Unfortunately, sad to say, very disappointed with this purchase. For the price, i would have expected better.

found the screen very dark and not sharp
The screen is the issue here, its not sharp, you can not alter the sharprness, but by far the biggest issue is... The brightness of the scree, it is crap, turned up max its ok in a room introduced any light and its useless, also move of access of the screen and you will struggle to see anything.... disappointed is an understatement

Great laptop. Very happy with it.
Works extremely well- fast, lots of space, easy to set-up and use. Had a windows 7 laptop for 10 years that served me well but needed to upgrade to windows 10 and I'm glad I chose this. Only use it for sit-down desk work, music, printing etc but has several features that I personally still use- CD/DVD, HDMI cable port, decent size screen. Would recommend.

Good, fast laptop. (it is not designed to be the best for 3D HD gaming).
I did not buy it from this seller, but have exactly thisDell 17-5770, i5 laptop with 128GB SSD and 1TB HDD.Good, fast laptop. (it is not designed to be the best for for 3D HD gaming).Startup is really quick in just seconds with the SSD (C:Drive), and especially if you remove or disable unnecessary startup apps & programmes.Make sure you use the HDD (D:Drive) for significant data like big powerpoints, videos, photos, TV recordings etc - don't load up the SSD space with that.It is fast for internet, office, streaming BBC iPlayer et al & watching full HD broadcasts(2k) etc. But not for latest (2018/2019) fastest 3D games.Gaming / Game Playing: Yes, but NO, not really. For simple games, and less complex games - ok. For latest 3D HD / fast multi-player games, you need a faster graphic GPU & at least the 8GB RAM, (or for really complex 3D games, then many use/fit 16GB RAM to their machines)WEIGHT: not the lightest as is 17 inch diagonal screen: ca 2.65 kg (5.4 lbs) without packagingBATTERY: 2 to 3 hours in realityAfter cycling the battery a few times from full to empty initially, the battery now lasts ca. 2 hours for me when running a few office programmes and with wifi setting on max performance.Dropping wifi to recommended/balanced when on battery increases the battery by nearly another +1 hour for me.The trick on laptops etc, is to turn off the wifi connection (airplane mode) when not actually needing online connection.SCREEN: 17 inch diagonal, full HD 1920x1080. 16:9 ratio. Not quite as bright as equivalent HP Envy machines, but not really noticeable.DOES NOT have TOUCHSCREEN.KEYBOARD works well(-) touchpad feels a bit plasticky compared to equivalent HP Envy machines.(MOUSE: Not included. I got a GBP15 Logitech M220 "silent" one from elsewhere - works fine)GPU: Relatively capable Intel 620 GPU onboard, plus additional AMD Radeon 4GB GPU graphic card takes the strain if things get demanding on rendering or when converting a video from one formats to another etc.CONNECTIONS2x USB 3.0, 1x USB 2.0, 1x SDHC card reader.1x HDMI,1x DVD/CD Writer/ReaderWifi, Microcast,Bluetooth (I keep switched off)As most Windows 10 machines, it is Microcast capable ("Windows key" + "P") to connect it to second Microcast capable screen or smart tv---------------------------------RECOVERY DRIVE / Recovery DVDs or RECOVERY USB stick: Not set up / not included.Highly recommended to use a reasonable/good quality 32GB USB 3.0 stick (ca. GBP £10) and immediately create a separate recovery drive on USB - takes about 15 to 25 minutes to save the 15GB recovery image onto a USB 3.0 stick, (at ca 10 to 20 MBps).---------------------------------Read Further if interested in details about SOFTWARE etc.No MS Office (just the usual initiator included to encourage you to buy/subscribe MS Office 365) - personally I uninstall that and use the leading free open source programme office suite "LibreOffice" instead - which can be set to work in and save docx, xlsx, pptx MS Office formats anyway.Cyberlink Media Suite Essentials / Power2Go - DVD player/burner and media player software included, if you want to use that.Olde Windows Media Player 12 is also on the machine and can be run / made to be the default media player if you want instead of latest Windows Media App.MS Windows Photo Viewer is NOT on the machine but can still get that from free download sites if you like a lightweight, simple photo viewer rather than the Windows 10 Photos App that is on machine. As with all delivered PCs / Laptops etc. Packaged with startup software stuff etc that is not needed.- Delete / Uninstall all the excess Bloatware that comes with it (or any machine you buy), & disable the startup of all the unnecessary startup programs - most of them you can start manually when you need them anyway.ie. on Dell's - I personally uninstall SkyDrive (OneDrive), DropBox, Skype, and some of the unnecessary Dell background apps. They can affect the startup speed and also unnecessarily exchange data about your machine and location etc, even if you don't use them.I also disable Microsoft Edge (ggl how to do that by renaming the Edge programme file) - not wise to uninstall Edge from Windows 10, even if using a different browser.... Also, unless intending to stick with McAfee Anti Virus after the 30 day free trial, that gets uninstalled from my Dell machines as well (it's a bit heavy on resources vs some other AV softwares). Note you might need to download McAfee's special free uninstaller to get rid of McAfee fully.
