Easy to read, a personal account, very informative
As a mother of a PDA child, I loved this book. It is the first that I have found that is written by a mother of their personal experience. A lot of the scenarios were so relatable such as how difficult it can be to leave the house, how siblings are affected, how a mother researches better than the FBI when their child needs help. At the end of each chapter are helpful recommendations for everyone but especially for those living in the UK. I loved the chapters “Dealing with other people” and “Life as a dud”, the latter written by the Dad and is an honest and funny Dad’s perspective. Although our journey was a little different ie.late diagnosed at age 14, I completely felt like I could connect with the issues the whole family went through. Definitely recommended!

Very relatable
An honest and heartfelt insight into what living with PDA is like. A book that many professionals and educators would benefit from reading, however, the ones that need to, are the ones likely not to.

Insightful and encouraging
This book is brilliant. A thoughtful, personal account of an often challenging parenting journey. I found it very relatable and comforting as we are on a similar path. Lots of useful information for parents of PDA kids and great to raise awareness and tackle (sadly common) ignorance around this topic. A must read for professionals working with autistic young people to update their knowledge and understanding. Will change lives!
