## Description

Hailing from Nantucket via Nashville, 20-year old multi instrumentalist Meghan Trainor scored her first publishing deal at age 18. She's since written tracks for everyone from Grammy winning country superstars Rascal Flatts to Common Kings. Inspired by a wide ranging source of influences from pop to R&B and soul to the melody and swing of soca, Meghan comes with her own unique, bold and catchy sound that also blends 50's throw back, hip hop and classic pop. "All About That Bass", the first single from Meghan's upcoming Epic Records debut album for release later this year (exact date TBD) and written entirely by Meghan herself is already being hailed as a serious summer hit contender by US blogs. "All About That Bass" is playful anthem that urges girls to ignore the standard beauty ideal. "When writing the song, I was thinking about girls today and how because of social media, there's more pressure to be society's version of perfect and the message of the song is to love your body no matter what, " said Meghan. The official video for the track has been released, check it out HERE. The clip was directed by legendary director/producer/choreographer Fatima Robinson (Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, Michael Jackson) and Vine superstar Sione Maraschino.

It's Not Just All About That Bass

The big hit song of 2014 isn’t from the soundtrack of FROZEN or “Happy” by Pharrell Williams. Instead it’s “All About That Bass” from rising superstar Meghan Trainor. Trainor has a voice that reminds one of female girl groups (such as The Chantelles, The Angels, The Shirelles, and The Supremes) of the late 1950s and early 1960s. Not only is her voice reminiscent of those voices from years ago, but the style of her music on TITLE is a reminder of that time, too. I wish more artists would be inspired by the style of that era; pop music would be much better off for it if they did. However, this isn’t the late 1950s or late 1960s and all four songs on TITLE aren’t just fluff and puff. Instead they contain mostly positive messages of self-acceptance that just about everyone can relate with. The songs on TITLE are:“All About That Bass” – the catchy song of the year that’s all about accepting your body.“Title” – this girl doesn’t just want to be your friend, she wants more than that.“Dear Future Husband” – a song to the singers suitors about what they’ll need to do to win her heart.“Close Your Eyes” – a slower song (more of a ballad, really) that speaks of the power of one’s inner beauty.Other than a very few minor swear words, the only negative about TITLE is that there are only four songs. Personally, I can’t wait to listen to what Trainor releases in the future.

    Be true to yourself!

Wish I had paid more attention. Got my wife interested in Meghan Trainor. Bought her this for Christmas, found out later it was just an EP. Totally my fault. Have recently heard the release of Dear Future Husband. The beginning was much better on the original streaming YouTube album. Would not want to purchase the album with this new disappointing opening. I am a strong believer in supporting artists, as I know several musicians personally, but I am so tempted to dig back through and find the original release and insert it with the rest of the purchased album. There is a sense of integrity for purchasing the entire album, but a statement must be made for her to follow her heart, as the changes had to be done after the fact to satisfy some stoopie poopie radio executives who exert more influence than integrity.Be true to yourself MT!
