Instead it’s “All About That Bass” from rising superstar Meghan Trainor. Trainor has a voice that reminds one of female girl groups (such as The Chantelles, The Angels, The Shirelles, and The Supremes) of the late 1950s and early 1960s. Not only is her voice reminiscent of those voices from years ago, but the style of her music on TITLE is a reminder of that time, too. I wish more artists would be inspired by the style of that era; pop music would be much better off for it if they did.However, this isn’t the late 1950s or late 1960s and all four songs on TITLE aren’t just fluff and puff. Instead they contain mostly positive messages of self-acceptance that just about everyone can relate with. Got my wife interested in Meghan Trainor. Bought her this for Christmas, found out later it was just an EP. Totally my fault. Have recently heard the release of Dear Future Husband. The beginning was much better on the original streaming YouTube album. Would not want to purchase the album with this new disappointing opening.
