These are The Best!
I had been making my own spreaders but these work so much better. The secret is the tiny prong in the V-shaped crotch that doesn't hurt the tree but holds the spreader firmly in place. My homemade ones often fell out. Plus my homemade ones are weathered wood and blend in with the mulch I use so if they fall out, I might not notice them for a while. These are a bright red and immediately get my attention on the infrequent occasions in which they do blow out. The only puzzling thing is the name.... "Lawn Accessory?????" How 'bout changing it to "World's Most Practical Limb Spreader"?!

Brittle plastic
Function is almost there but need a tougher plastic; the ends snap off...they went from development to production too fast. Story of America.

Way too small
For the price, these are absolute junk. They are supposed to spread fruit tree branches. Unless you are doing bonsai these will not work. The price was huge. Rip off.

I love these
This is a fabulous assortment! I have had a difficult time finding the very short ones and finally found these! I would have preferred to have purchased only the small ones, but I was happy to get them so I purchased the entire package. These are great for training Japanese maples and small magnolias.

Plastic
Not what I expected. Cheap plastic.

Perfect for training pear trees
The spreaders are durable. I use them on my young pear trees to create 45 degree angles on branches. I have been using this type of spreaders for 4 years now and they hold up well in Texas heat without failure.

I suppose these would work best for a very very young tree or plant
The plastic spreaders are very brittle and will snap if any pressure is used. I broke a few just trying to spread a small limb. And the ones that did not break, I was outside today and found that another had broken. I suppose these would work best for a very very young tree or plant.
