Excellent compilation
This LP covers the peak period for Depeche Mode in terms of songwriting maturity and should appeal to fans of intelligent synth-based rock.

Depeche mode , the singles , the later years
I am no great expert on individual groups . There are some I particularly like , others I get to sample them . I have reached an age where I choose to select" best of" selections of "best" albums" ( as per All Music Guide to Rock or Rough Guide to Rock) .My sound system is a simple Bose Wave and I listed to the sounds either direct or through Sennheiser wireles headphones. I buy "nearly new" second hand items where possible.Depeche Mode were very much a singles band and for those wishing to sample the music of Depeche mode ( rather than the individual albums) , this compilation double CD ( together with the " 81-85" 1998 singles album) should satisfy all but completists.

Piece of Art
Depeche Mode are such a great group, and this is testament to them, Its the second singles album and just demonstrates how DM have evolved from their Eighties beginning, DM have stood the test of time and the quality shows with these tracks. They still continue today, maybe not hitting the singles charts but still producing fine albums and filling stadiums with live concerts, how many Eighties groups can claim this?

Start here.
The more you listen to Depeche Mode (preferably through high quality sound systems/headphones) the more amazed you are by the production, the song structures, and Dave Gahan's voice. A great starting point for a music fan.
