Good cd noting bad to say about it

I am no great expert on individual groups . There are some I particularly like , others I get to sample them . I have reached an age where I choose to select" best of" selections of "best" albums" ( as per All Music Guide to Rock or Rough Guide to Rock) .My sound system is a simple Bose Wave and I listed to the sounds either direct or through Sennheiser wireles headphones. I buy "nearly new" second hand items where possibleThis is the updated (1998 ) version LCDMUTEL1 and this remastered version has both a sharper sound ,has 2 extra tracks and and has a correct track order compared to the first issue of this " best of series from 1985. For those wishing to sample the music of Depeche mode ( rather than the individual albums) , this compilation ( and the 86-98 double album) should satisfy all but completists

I'm probably a rarity in that I prefer earlier Depeche Mode. This collection is very strong in my opinion, whilst I find the 86>98 singles collection pretty inconsistent, although "Enjoy The Silence" in probably my favourite DM song. As regards this 81>85 collection, it is interesting to hear the change from the fairly lightweight - but still excellent - early synthpop singles, to the later more industrial sounding songs dealing with weightier issues. A thoroughly recommended compilation that is proving nostalgic for this listener.

Great to hear Blasphemous Rumours again, took me back to my teenage years. Forgotten how many great singles they released from 81 to 85, and how their sound evolved. I wonder if it's possible to wear out a CD?!
