My initial experience was confusing. I wanted something cheap that I could use conveniently without having to pull out an actual machine. I looked into this. My friend referred it to me, and he said it was great. Like I said, the initial opening was great. The box was intact and it looked okay. When I pulled it out there was the machine… That’s it. Don’t get me wrong the packaging was phenomenal but I think having a manual would be nice. Technically speaking though, I did buy an extremely cheap diagnostics tool that works. Sure… you get no manual or any indication of what app to use but they technically don't sell you that point. I guess they just assume everyone will read the item description for the application. I bought an item that was meant to diagnose my car. The item works. The item doesn’t have any problems. That's what they’re selling you. Don't get your hopes up if you expect a really quality piece of equipment for cheap. They sell you what they are stating and it works for me. The only thing I would change would still be the manual. Overall, I can’t hate the item for expecting more out of it than what I got. Technically I guess you can consider the item description the manual. Once I set everything up, all I have to do is go to an app I downloaded and connect to it via Wifi: Therefore, I would give it a 5 for functionality, 5 for packaging, 4 for ease of set up, and a 5 for satisfaction. I chose the Auto Doctor app to use with the device. I like how easily my iPhone 6 connected to the OBD ll's WiFi signal. The Auto Doctor Program is easy to navigate also. I scanned my vehicle [2002 Accord Vtech V6] a week ago when I first got the device. My Check Engine light was not on and it correctly found no fault codes. Yesterday my Check Engine light came on and it found an EVAP leak [P1457]. I have not confirmed this is correct by repairing the EVAP component yet. I suspect it's correct because the EVAP canister valve has leaked before.I can only use the OBD II reader with the motor off/ Ignition on. It does not want to remain connected with the engine running. Maybe that's due to the age or model of my vehicle. I don't know... Either way it works! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ There are multiple apps possible I chose just one. *by J***M on May 29, 2019* I used this to clear my faulty thermostat code after I changed my thermostat. I had a little confusion when I scanned the qr code on the box and the directions. I had to reread the directions a couple of times to assess what app should work. I had a list of apps to choose from on my android after the phone sent me to the webpage I scanned. It didn't exactly send me to Google play. I wound up reading the descriptions on the web page and then typed a general search I gathered I hope my experience saves some time. Take a test of the app Dashcommand before buying. Although as I said there were others to choose from.I know the possibility to keep it plugged in and see real time status changes. Its really great. Especially great that you don't have to avoid wires surrounding your feet when you are driving. It's uses wifi BUT I will say that I do not use this often because I feel it would be a distraction to see real time affects while the car is in motion.If I became serious about improving my performance and gas mileage I'm guessing this would help if I paid for the pro version. I didn't though and have no plans in the future.The device did clear my error code p0128 as I intended it and it was accurate to show revs per minute as the car changed with little delay. I was using this on the domestic daily driver. There were some interesting other facts I didnt know, the free app could show pitch of the car for one, it can also keep a log of ongoing fuel mileage. I was definitely impressed.This just took me a little bit to find the app I was looking for and then I uninstalled the others I guessed at.
