Review: Very impressed - I'm honestly very impressed by this kit. The containers are surprisingly thick plastic! Very sturdy and should last years. I love that they stack inside each other with the covers on for easier storage, and that the covers have an icon and words saying what type of food that container is for as well as the measurements! I haven't tested yet, but I doubt they are watertight since there is no sealing ring. That isn't a problem for me since I work from home, but it's something you may want to keep in mind if you're planning on packing these in a lunch box. The manual is nice enough as a starting guide and has some useful information like some examples of what can go in each colored container, how to calculate which calories plan you should do and how many of each container you should eat per day based on your calories goal, as well as encouraging you to pace yourself in a healthy way. It includes helpful tips and example meal plans, but there aren't what I would consider real recipes since the ones they have are more like a list without cooking instructions (see the included picture where for lunch it says "bell peppers stuffed with the turkey-quinoa mixture" but no steps on how to cook any of that with times, temperatures, or even if it's stove top or in an oven, etc). I didn't buy this kit for recipes so that isn't a big deal to me since there are plenty of 21 day fix portion control container recipes online. The manual also has some exercise suggestions using the jump rope, and areas to chart your progress which is nice. I actually love the cordless jump rope since I don't want to use a regular jump rope outside (too embarrassing at my age for neighbors to see me, plus the weather isn't always good) and the cordless is perfect to use indoors since it won't hit ceilings or walls. The body tape measuring tool isn't really explained but it was easy enough to figure out and you can easily find printouts online if you wanted to chart and keep track of your various body sizes as you use this portion control system. One tip- once you hook the measuring tape into the base you can press the button to retract it tighter around the body part you are measuring. So overall I am very happy with this kit (especially at this price!). I've never tried any type of diet before, but I am around 50 pounds overweight and a recent doctor visit showed I now have high blood pressure too. I hated the idea of traditional diets or counting calories (seems depressing), but decided I should finally try something to be healthier and hopefully lose enough to help lower my blood pressure. I randomly discovered the 21 day fix portion control container system and it actually looked kind of fun. It's basically counting calories for me while I get to put foods I like in colorful containers that make me smile. This should help teach better portion control too, and healthier eating habits. From what I've researched, many people are worried at first since the containers seem so small, but you actually eat more than one of many of the colors per day and overall it seems to fill people up. And as mentioned, it's easy to find recipes online for this program that shows which colored container amounts are used for that meal and there are lots of lists online with suggestions for what foods can go in each colored container. I'm looking forward to trying this system out. It definitely seems much less stressful overall, and this is a really nice kit. I'm glad I purchased it.

All in all it's a great portion control tool. 1 cup if fruit or 1 cup of vegetables is actually quite a lot of food. Without measuring you don't really realize how we can over do portions. The booklet is also very useful.

Great item that I purchased for my sister as she if learning to eat differently due to a health condition. Cleans up nicely. No leaking and the lid goes on and off with ease. Makes preparing food easier than measuring as the measurement is printed on each cup.
