Vigo Flip-Flop Socks, Japanese Tabi Toe Socks

As others have pointed out, the material on these socks is thin, especially considering the price. But the worst aspect, to me, is the way the toes are stitched. Most of the other tabi socks I've purchased have either a completely flat seam at the toe, or are constructed of fabric that folds over the toe and only has small stitching on the sides to provide shape. In the case of the "character" socks, this is not the case. The sock-toes have a fairly pronounced inside seam that rubs against the tips of my small toes, and all around the big-toe. It's annoying after even a few minutes. A partial work-around is to wear these socks inside out, but this then hides the design work on the socks themselves, and the large seams rubbing in the toe-gap is still fairly annoying. Would not purchase these again.

After wearing for one day around the house in flip flops, these socks developed little pills or balls, which are dark - picked up from other dark clothing. So, I washed them with other whites, but that didn't improve them. So disappointed.The photo shows socks after ONE wearing and ONE washing (with white clothes).These socks are made of a thin, stretchy knit material and do not resist pilling at all. How can you wear tabi socks that look like this? Uggh!

These are the same quality as any pair of socks. They fit kinda weird, because My toes look like squares, and they're all squished together. But its not terribly uncomfortable. Its good for cons. As long as you ignore it, its fine.I am a US women's size 11.They are ever so slightly see through, but as long as someone isn't looking critically at them up close, no one would tell if you were just walking around or something.Yes, there is pilling but omg people its a pair of socks! It's what they do! Just use your fingers and pull them off! It's not a big deal. I wore them with black sandals and there was no black residue so I don't know what people are doing that they're getting residue on it.Over all, very comfy and I would buy them again if I needed to!

I recently purchased these tabi socks after wanting them for quite some time. I love the fit. They work great for flip flops, but are also comfortable as regular socks since you can't feel the big toe seams. The company was personable and quick and the design is striking. The only reason I'm not giving these socks a 5 star rating is the thinness of the fabric. These photos are after one wear of a couple of hours. The heel is showing thinning, and the toe nails are sure to break through the threads after a few more wears. I'd recommend hand washing, and ordering a few extra pairs. Chances are however, I'll purchase a few other brands instead.

Socks are not as pictured. The picture looks like these socks go somewhat up the calf, but what I received were ankle socks. I have to pull them snugly to get them to fit over my heel, too. They tend to slip down so the heel part is off my heel, plus the fabric twists around on my foot, etc. Not good socks. The thin material doesn't bother me but the fit does. I feel like my toes are jammed into the toe parts to get the heel part over my heel. And then they don't stay properly. Crappy fit. Would not recommend these to anybody. I might recommend them to someone with tiny feet, but I'd warn them that they are ankle socks rather than the taller style pictured.

I did not receive the items I paid for. Instead of blue w/ figures, I got all white socks. I contacted Amazon w/ no result, just to return items. We’ve already worn white ones and they’re all dirty and I’ve no time to return. I just want what I originally ordered & paid for. This was Amazon’s fault, not mine.Debra McDonald

One if the questions I saw a lot of when researching these was if they fit "western" feet. I wear a size men's 11 medium and they fit. Though they just barely come up over my ankles. Since I am wearing them with flip flops that doesn't bother me.But you have to be careful as to how you clean them. When I first got them I washed them and hung them up. The second time I washed a pair I put them in the dryer. You can see by the picture that they shrunk quite a bit. As the material is very stretchy they still fit fine. I just don't know if they will continue to shrink if I use the dryer again, but after this I don't plan too.

These are terrific. I never got socks for flip flops before, but I bought 4 pr of my favorite Clarks Breeze Seas flip flop sandals for this summer and want to wear them everywhere...and that will take good socks. Sock shopping, I was concerned with durability, comfort and absorbency and these V-Toes more than fill the order. They hug the foot (spandex) are more cotton (80%) than polyester (absorbency) and rise above the ankle (PERFECT for slacks). I was surprised to see they have a fitted heel, so there's a left and a right sock in each pair. The seam that closes the sock runs along the top of the toes, including between the big/second toes. I was concerned the seam would be bulky and irritate between the toes, but I wore them all day today and never had an issue...very comfortable.Sandals wear better if socks can be worn and an added benefit is that I can wear medicated foot creme during the day and keep my feet soft.I don't know how they will launder. They might shrink, but I wash in cold and hang dry so that should be minimal. If they don't launder well, I'll edit this review.I'm very pleased with these and highly recommend them.
