Kitty Kan Traveler Quality Enclosed Disposable Litter Box with Scoops and a Bonus Cat Bed

We used this in the backseat of our car while driving and moved it around to different places, and it held up well. The bottom did not leak at all, but the litter can spill out through the sides a little (I'm looking forward to trying the deeper-bottom version). The cardboard scoopers are difficult to use, so it's better to just bring a normal scooper, but they're better than nothing. Rather than the "cat bed" (a cardboard tray) that it comes with, it would be great if this came with exchangeable bottoms so you could use it a few times.***Updating this review as I have now tried the PetSafe version and it was horrible! It made me realize how well-made this is. It is very sturdy and does not collapse, even when our cat sits on top of it. The cardboard on the bottom also holds up very well throughout use and cleaning.

This box is amazing as long as your cats don’t climb on top of the box. It will collapse. It ended up working fine for us and I was glad to have something for our 27hr drive from AZ to KY. It lasted for one 8 hr drive with them occasionally climbing on top of the box then it was toast. The nice thing is even when it looses its main structural integrity you can fold it down flat with litter inside of the box still. So whenever our cats (two 12lb males) needed to use the box they would scratch at the cardboard box and we would just temporarily pull it up tall and they would do their business just fine. Even though they were extremely stressed from the long travel, we had no accidents at all we just presumptively laid a sheet down under the box for when they’d scratch litter out the opening. Glad we did that as well. I ended up preferring keeping it folded down flat bc it gave us more room in the car to be comfortable in. We also used this box for 5 days with no issue of it leaking or making a mess through the bottom of the box. But I give it a three out of five so that people can know that if you are expecting for it to keep standing up tall for a long trip with free roaming cats it will not hold up.

Took this on a 10-day trip and was praying it would last being set up and taken down on a daily basis. It held up extremely well and my cat enjoyed her privacy. She had no problems getting used to it. I followed the manufacturer's recommendation to use the same brand litter. I traveled with a small bag of it to keep adding to the little in the box. All went very smoothly and I enjoyed not having to clean up scattered litter at every hotel. Even the cardboard scoops lasted, but I would not recommend using the scoops provided if you are not using scoopable litter. The only thing you don't need is the bed, but I knew I wanted more than just a disposable tray and this was perfect. In fact, my cat continued to use it after the trip was over. We were moving across the country and when we arrived I did not have a litter box so she continued to use this travel one for another six days (I cleaned it daily). It was still in great shape and probably could have lasted longer! I will definitely buy this again if I have to travel with my cat.

This came in very thoughtful packaging--the whole box folds down as seen in the product pictures with a twine tie around it, to avoid unnecessary plastic packaging. It was easy to set up, and it has instructions to reverse so that you can fold it up, still holding dirty litter, and dispose of it. I used it for about a week with my cat, and I did notice a slight suggestion of dampness on the outside bottom one day, so certainly be sure to use plenty of litter (especially if your cat likes to dig) to avoid any bleed through. The cardboard scoops (which you shape yourself by bending) were a bit unwieldy to work with, but overall it's great to have this all in one nice package if your taking your cat with you somewhere.

Simply awesome. Bought it for moving my two cats from South Florida to Rhode Island; folded this up in the car and took it out when we got to the hotel at night. Cats went right in, used it easily, and I could tell they felt safe since it was enclosed. They wouldn't use it in the car, which was fine, as I didn't have the space to open it up anyway! When I got to my new place, I set up this box and they continued to use it for the first week, until they got comfortable going outside in their new backyard. The perfect moving solution for cats -- I highly recommend. Oh, and the scratching bed that comes with it -- I thought that was completely redundant at first, but my cats LOVED it. So much so, I wish I could buy one separately, lol. They scratched it and slept on it until it literally fell apart, but it took a month for that to happen.

My family and I drove from CT to CA with two large cats and this was a total life saver. I was able to place it on the floor of our van behind the driver seat which was a tight fit but it made it so it didn’t slide around. We were in the car for 7-8 hours a day and they used it with no problem. Then all I had to do was collapse it down and brought it into the hotel for them to cont using. I used the scooper it came with to clean the litter before hitting the road again. It took 5 days to get to CA and it supprisingly held up! It was a little beat up towards the end of the trip but it still worked. Highly recommend!

The Kitty Kan is a must have for our annual road trips from Wisconsin to Arizona and back. While planning our first trip in 2015 I wasn't excited about having to lug a standard covered litter box in and out of hotels and the car. I was happy to discover the Kitty Kan which closes up nicely to transport on the luggage rack into the hotels. The first year we were only gone 2 months so I also used it at our rental. It is very durable. My cat had no problem using it in the car. We had the back seat down and she would go from her carrier to the Kitty Kan as needed. My cat also likes the "bed" and uses it to scratch her whiskers on. Great product!
