Very disappointing - I bought this to spook potential thieves and for a while it was fine. It worked for about 5 months, it stopped and I assumed the batteries needed changing - however despite trying 2 sets of batteries the alarm element doesn't work any more.I've contacted Target twice now via their website / email address and have not received any response despite them proclaiming a 5 year warranty cover.********UPDATE************Having managed to speak to someone by telephone, I have received a replacement so I have adjusted my rating accordingly from 1 to 3 stars for the time being. Don't use their website form to contact them!I will adjust this review further depending on how the new lock works over the coming months.

Sturdy-looking lock. Alarm a bit of a gimmick. Left mine locked up and activated outside a swimming pool. It rained and triggered the alarm. When I returned the receptionist said "your bike has been making a funny squeaking noise". That was the alarm. So not a huge deterrent, but at least someone noticed. The lock seems okay, but I imagine a hammer would have it cracked in a couple of blows (see youtube for similar). Therefore, I use as an extra, not as the main (for which I use a chunky U-lock).

The alarm is very sensitive and loud. Big, chunky and secure looking lock. I've had bikes stolen in the past (didn't even realise until a few days after) but I think this will help to prevent any more going missing.Two modes on the lock, armed and not armed. When armed, the alarm will sound after a few seconds if the lock is moved even a little so if you are parking it in public where it might be nudged, better to not arm the alarm.

It's a good, chunky, sturdy lock - and will certainly deter opportunistic thieves.I've found the alarm can be a bit sensitive though - wind has set it off a couple of times, and it does have a habit of going off in the short time between me picking it up and turning the key to unlock it. Fine out in the open, but painful in a small enclosed area!Also - why is it so short! Give it an extra foot or so.

I you want to use this outdoors do not waste your money.We used to secure and alarm bikes to a hired motorhome but the rain/damp entered the casing and rendered it unusable as an alarm

This is OK but not as well made as the alarmed D type that target do. Not quite as long as I wanted in the same way that the D type was not wide enough to be fully useful. I suggested to the company that a D type the same size as most D locks would be a good seller but did not even get an acknowledgement of my communication!!

This security device is excellent for the price. It came with batteries supplied and with spare batteries. The only problem is that the instructions do not give enough information on how to replace the batteries. Once the battery chamber was opened, accessing the battery holding cassette required use of a screwdriver to lever it out of the chamber.

A great lock that makes a lot of noise if you tamper only slightly with it. I think it is one of the best locks that I have. I also like the design of the lock and the built quality is awesome. Highly recommend, the price is fantastic.

While it is a sturdy lock and cable the alarm part of the unit is not sufficiently resistant to the elements making the alarm feature useless. Better off looking for a weather proof alarm system or buying a traditional lock and cable/chain.

Awesome loud use on ebike along with cheaper lock has batterys in it and came with pack of twelve when rideing don't fully click and it wont go off. knock this it sounds off and draws attention don't bike in rain but you could cover with plastic bag

Very impressed with the lock. At first thought it wasn't sensitive enough, then realised it's very clever it's more sensitive the more it's tampered with to give you enough time to unlock it without an ear piercing sound and if it's accidentally nudged. After receiving this clever little device I ordered another one immediately
