Blumat Classic Self-Watering Stakes - Prevents Overwatering and Underwatering for Healthy Growth While You are Away - Ideal for Indoor Plant Watering (25 Pack w/o Adapter)

Took off for a two week vacation & these were saved my indoor and outdoor plants. For my indoor plants, I grouped 2-3 plants close by and had a stake in each . I placed gallon bottles of water near each grouping and dropped the tubing in. For the out door urn planters I filled 5 gallon buckets of water and used 2 spikes for each . I moved smaller planters into shady areas and used smaller buckets for them .Wow ! All the plants indoor and outdoor made it !! I was impressed ! I think they did better than when I was watering them . I came home from vacation & they looked happy , full & vibrant . My Easter cactus was even flowering ! I’m really happy I purchased these & wish I would have done it sooner .

I love these things - not the least expensive thing I have ever purchased, but I don’t have to pay a neighborhood teen to water plants if I leave for a few weeks, so they will pay for themselves over and over again. I wouldn’t keep them out all the time because I don’t find them particularly attractive, but for vacation they work great. My plants were all perfectly healthy when I returned from a 3 week trip, and I think it’s probably because the plants draw only the moisture they need. Overall I would definitely recommend.

I bought these with the best of hope since I would be going away on vacation for a week and have many many plants that I love dearly. I set up the system a few days before I left on two plants I knew needed watering to see if the system would pull water into them. It worked perfectly for the plants, they actually used all the water in the container I had the water set in. I was super jazzed so I setup my other plants the day before I departed with their irrigation lines, watered them all before I left and prayed that they would be ok. Plot twist, I got stuck on vacation due to a hurricane and ended up getting back home 4 days after I was supposed to so I was sure I would walk into half dead wilted plants. To my surprise I walked into lush greenery(see pics), I only lost 1 leaf on a fiddle leaf fig which I suspect was going to drop anyways. Some of the water containers I left were dry because the lines pulled in the water needed. The system works perfectly and is easy to setup just follow instructions. For my very large plants and trees I used two plugs and a gallon water bottle as a water container, for my small plants I used flower vases and had multiple plants pulling from the vase. I hope this helps anyone on the fence on whether to buy these watering stakes.

Update: Saw some of plants are looking sick and the found soil completely dried out on 2 of 8 planters. They were working fine for a while. What causes them to stop working, I have no idea. Soaked them in water overnight hoping it helps. Tomato plants are getting big and see some flowers blooming, hope to see tomato soon.Got 25 packs hoping to start a winter vegetable garden once started seeds in Aero-garden. It is working fine on some of them but about half of them do not dispense water at all.Read tips from reviews and was very careful to get air out of the plastic tubes and soaked it much longer than 15 minutes as instruction called for. Even added fishing sinker size 1/2 oz as one of the reviewers recommended, and it made sense to do so.Will try to soak ones that do not work and hope that they start to function. So far have very mix feelings after spending so much money.

Product top class and works well. t is also remarkably easy to set up and use.Delivery packaging needs to be upgraded. Package in plastic envelope with little protection. Product packaging was dented and squashed on all corners, but fortunately no products were damaged, well that is no damaged items have yet been found. The box is so far only slightly unpacked with a few items. Parcels have a long way to travel to South Africa!!

Did not work at all. Don’t waste your money!!! I left my plants with gallon of water and it did not work at all. Very disappointed. I followed the instructions and no mater how long they soaked water it did not work. I found the gallon of water with the same water. I normally don’t rate, but in this case I have to. I bought the large package only to find out none work. Not a single one worked.

I bought some of these to take care of my houseplants while on vacation. Even if you aren't traveling, these are great to have, especially if you overwater/underwater. You will find some plants just sip, while others are more thirsty. My plants are thriving because they get just the right amount of water. All I have to do is top off the container of water when the levels get low. A couple things I learned that may help: when you attach the cap & hose to the terra cotta carrot after soaking, keep the carrot, cap and end of the hose submerged and push the cap on and off a couple times; this will get the air out of the hose. Also, whatever water reservoir you use, try to keep it out of direct sunlight, as algae will quicky develop.

I use these watering stakes to water potted plants when I go on extended vacations. They work as advertised and I have not had any issues with any dead plants even when going on vacation for several weeks. I use exclusively indoors in my grow tent and setup chairs/ladders in the tent to get the correct watering amount. I usually give each plant about 1 gallon jug of water and that is plenty for several weeks. I have even been able to keep my vanilla orchid alive which is a vine that has aerial roots by using zip ties to attach the the Blumat cones to the stake for the orchid. The only downside of these is setup is a bit of a pain as you need to soak them for some time before use. Also, the hose is not heavy enough to sink to the bottom of the water so I have attached weights to ensure they stay submerged.

I've struggled with getting them right for house plants - 3 of my plants doing great, 2 have had way too much water coming through (my fault as no time to try and rectify).I have been working a lot lately and haven't had a chance to get outside to water the plants - consistent 35 to 40 Celsius every day. I've got half of my flower bed (pictured) set up with blumats and half without and you can clearly see the side flourishing! I'm very impressed.

I bought them for my husband. He has many plants and watering them from time to time was quite a hassle. Now, he enjoy his time just filling the water containers that are shared for each couple of them. Also, the plants have started thriving due to constant moisture in the soil. We can travel peacefully any time 😊

I wasn't really sure if these little terracotta units would be effective but my 24hour test showed a noticeable drop in water level, and the plant's soil was moist. I'm leaving my plants alone for almost two weeks and I can relax knowing they will be watered while I'm gone. I'd definitely recommend this watering system if you're going on vacation, or just want to automatically water your plants. TIP: attach rocks or fishing weights to the ends (the part that's in the water) if you don't want them to float!
