The Masters Sourcebook (Robotech RPG) Paperback – January 1, 2009

This book is good, it artfully details the Southern Cross well. To me it is better than the original. I am not a big fan of the Southern Cross part of the anime, but this book does well to bring it to the RPG world.

Great book. However I really don't like the Manga version. I'd rather have a full sized book than the manga version. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the full size version. Other than that, art in the book is excellent and it's better organized.

Read the Book in an effort to prep for a Southern Cross Campaign.Thought the book was spot-on to the Anime, ASC mecha tended to be weaker even in the last edition. After all, the Army of the Southern Cross LOST 3/4 of the engagements it fought that did not involve capital ships.If you remember that the ASC was an army on a budget and a small one at that you will not be suprised by anything in this book.If you remember the Robotech Masters lost due to an amateur strategic mistake, logistic collapse, you will love it.Just dont expect to play rambo and live

A fine translation of the show to the printed RPG format. Worth it even for fans of the show that do not roleplay, the writing is crisp, the stats and information fairly accurate while the art ranges from good to excellent.

This was Jason Marker's last Robotech book for Palladium books. and it was his Best. even with a few Tech issues, Mr. Marker went to capture the feeling of the Middle Chapter of Robotech, with Respect to both the Hard Core RPG fans, and the Hard Core Anime(Robotech) Fans. I'm deeply Saddened that Palladium fired him, and he has move on to other Great books.My only tiny Beef with the book is its Power level is lower than the previous 2 books, but it plays well within its own setting, and honestly, the stats in the Macross RPG book are just way higher than they should be.

Ok I'm gonna start with the good.I dig the art, there is more actual new art in this book. I like the way the different Armies where straightened out. Most impressive is the sheer amount of hardware in this book. Mecha, vehicles, weapons, armor and ships. There is really a LOT of stuff in the book.Now the bad.It's the normal complete lack of research into weaponry or attention to consistency. Man portable weapons systems should not have equal and greater damages / ranges and payloads to vehicle and Mecha weapons systems. It's just silly.Oh and the Sig P239 is a DAO action pistol, not single. It's not even offered in SAO. I know this cuz I'm a gun nut. But anyone can know this by typing "sig p239" and clicking on the very 1st result.NOW THE REALLY BAD...The XP Tables are MISSING!!Really?Palladium should offer refunds / replacements.A simple addition to the famed palladium "errata" section of their site will not do.They should offer refunds and reprint the book. Just posting this in the "Errata" section of their site is no good.Here's an example, the guys that made CthulhuTech had some printing and binding problems with the 1st run of the main book. They made a statement on their site saying all one had to do was take a photo of the problem, regardless of what that problem was, and they would ship a new and corrected copy to them free of any charge. I had a problem with my book. I sent in my photo and they said as soon as the new books got printed I would receive my new copy and I did. Also, the printing problems where not missing content, it was bad plating at the printer, so there was some smearing. OH and I never had to return the original hard bound flawed copy.The guys that made CT are just few dudes with other careers and families. Amateurs. Good and innovative amateurs, but still noobs to the industry. If they can make this kid of commitment to the fans and STILL BE IN BUSINESS WHILE PUMPING OUT NEW BOOKS, kevilladium, "The Machine", a veteran of 20+ years who's entire job/career/life is RPG's should be able to at least match their effort.

Good revamp of the original rules. Adds some info to tie to the Macross and Invid Invasion eras.
