Duchy Waitrose Organic Earl Grey Teabags 25 per pack - Pack of 6

Very nice tea. No plastic inside these tea bags! Which is why I bought them. This was the cheapest collection of this brand I could see on Amazon (I am not near a Waitrose). Bought these Duchy teabags from Amazon in March. Each box wrapped in plastic - oh dear! - the use by date is December. I suppose the plastic wrapping round each box helps to keep the tea bags in good condition. So I have nine and a half months to use them up. I have also recently started using and enjoying leaf tea! Because these tea bags are quite expensive. But now not sure I will use all these by the end of December. Although they taste grest — and I also like the fact that they are organic — I also discovered how nice other tea flavours can be made with loose leaf tea, the old fadhioned way. I like strong tea, e.g. Yorkshire tea. These Duchy tea bags are a smoother taste, but not too weak. They provide the convenience of not having to dispose of loose tea leaves. I like to put used teabags and loose tea into my waste disposal machine in kitchen sink, because tea helps to keep waste disposal smell-free. I have been told I should not put teabags into waste disposal as you don’t put paper in disposal machine, but have been putting a few at a time into waste disposal for 30 years or more with no problems. But horrified to now discover that most tea bags - not these - contain a minute amount of plastic to hold the bags in shape! So I have been unwittingly putting that plastic into waste water! Other manufacturers are now rushing to produce tea bags which do NOT contain plastic. So by December there may be more plastic-free tea bags available. The taste of these Duchy English Breakfast tea bags is no doubt enhanced by being organic. But loose leaf Yorkshire is also delicious, though a harsher taste, for very strong tea with lots of caffein, but getting rid of loose tea leaves is less convenient.
