Frustrating tutorial, great game otherwise
game is amazing. tutorial is atrocious and almost made me want to quit. otherwise once you get the hang of things its one of the better train games ive played, and on ps4 i could say first and only.stick thru the tutorial and it eventually makes.sense.it seems they overlayed menus in a few places and listed options but not all was clear. also some icons arent self.explanatory.its a lot like a newer sid Meyers railroads or railroad tycoon "5" per sethe track routing is fun albiet confusing at times but when u get the hang of it its very rewarding. it just sucks that the tuturial doesnt get you to that point efficiently.in my 47" tv i wish i had options to increase interface size [small text] and adjust more camera settings.i honestly really like this game now that ive gotten the hang of it. i feel in an update or two it will be more polished once kalypso hears gamers wishes and suggestions

Crashes Constantly
Crashes constantly after you've established any type of significant railway network. I can't give this anymore than 2 stars because after a few hours on any map that you play, your game will become bogged down and will not be playable, which ruins the very reason to play the game. Zooming out becomes impossible. Clicking on signals to bring up the signal network results in crashes. Building too much track results in lag and crashes. Highly disappointing.

Angry to say the least!!!
I bought Railway Empire, thinking by the description it was an installable game right off the disk. Turns out you must let the disk install and you must subscribe to "Steam". No way, I felt forced into doing something I didn't want. I just wanted to install & play "Railway Empire" Well, "Steam" installed but the game itself was nowhere to be found. Customer support? Phone number was an out of country number (or cell) Just try to contact via computer internet. I play Tycoon 3 and really hope for a game of the same caliber... I'm sending it back for a refund, Amazon as always was great...

Awful forced tutorial
The real meat of the game (campaign mode) forces you to go through a painful tutorial that is more head scratching and frustrating than informative.I love simulation games (especially transportation/flight sims), but they missed the mark by forcing a frustrating tutorial. I literally ended up looking on Wikipedia on how signaling works (but you still have to go through the stupid tutorial to begin the game). The game itself is fun in the freestyle play modes (sandbox/free/scenario), but the forced tutorial for the campaign ruins it. Getting passed the silly motions in that tutorial is a challenge in itself (i.e. not fun, not informative).A 'skip tutorial' option would make this game worthy of 5-stars,

Comes with zero instructions, no help for online manual
This referee to the PS4 or console version. There is not a single help file, no manual, no tutorial. There is a brief explanation in the first few minutes, but the instruction fail to reveal which button does what. It may say "confirm your choice", but you might not be able to find any button or control which will do that, as one example. There is a "Tips and Tricks" file, which again, explains tactics, or what various terms mean, etc, but nowhere will you find "Push the X button to confirm" for instance. It's a lot more intricate and involved than a railroad game from a few years ago, and the actual method of doing things is opaque and frustrating. Kids will walk away in a short time, since, as another example, controls may be disabled until some condition is met, so you need to press (pick a button) to do something, but the command is disabled because you have not done something else correctly, which is also hidden from you and nowhere explained. Of course, I wasted my money buying this. So, learn from my lesson and get something else.

I couldn't wait for this. Then I played it...
I so looked forward to this game. I accepted the fact that although, the game advertises "manual included" it is pretty much useless. I also forgave the horrendously inadequate tutorial. But I draw the line at the awful behavior of the game itself. So far, I have FAILED to get though a scenario without at least several crashes. The game will crash to the home screen, so if you haven’t saved recently, you’re doomed to repeat some things (and most likely crash again).Usually the crashes do not happen until you’ve got a well developed network going. This makes things worse in a way, due to the time invested in creating and building. After numerous freezes and crashes to the home screen, I have given up! I sincerely hope a patch is in the works. And yes, I have more than enough processing power in all my components to play it one my Xbox one X. Until this is fixed, do not purchase this game.

Awesome game. Like the old original Railroad Tycoon series.
Love this game. Played the first earliest version archaic Railroad Tycoon on a 486 computer 30yrs ago. So happy to be playing this latest Rail sim. It really is very similar to the original only amazing graphics and more advanced gameplay.PS4 version I got is fully functional like PC just different controls. But I imagine some things might be less cumbersome if it were on PC and with a mouse.

YOU HAVE TO REALLY LIKE TRAINS TO WITHSTAND LEARNING ALL THE FINIKY THINGS TO DO TO PLAY GAME
FOR HARDCORE TRAIN ENTHUSIASTS. all the little detailed steps you have to follow make the game very hard to play. i dont think anyone would spend the time to learn how to even simply set down the basics, such as tracks to towns, crops, minerals, etc . you have to have trains for each route and complex signals for trains to function properly; as well as many other things done in specific order to even have any functioning railways. without functioning railways, you do not earn any money to buy the necessary items to play the game!however, if you really dig railways / trains .. and dealing with minutia ... this maybe a game for you!

Divertido
