Private Practice - Season 1 [DVD]

If I had watched a few more eps I defo wouldn’t have bought the whole 6 seasons. Only bought because it’s a greys anatomy spin off. It should be free with prime. People would watch because of the greys anatomy link other than that no one will. Pay to watch that.

Such a shame about this programme, I really really wanted to like it because I love Kate Walsh and I love her character, but it just didn't have the same feel to it as greys anatomy. Even after reading the reviews I thought I could watch this with a clear head and not compare it to greys but even then I couldn't enjoy it. None of the characters are likeable, the storylines are weak, even Addison wasn't all that likeable in it, she doesn't feel like the Addison we grow to love in Greys. It's a shame because I wanted to watch this to get a better understanding of Amelia Shepherds background but I won't bother with the other seasons.

I have become addicted to Private Practice so quickly it is unreal and I am currently half way through season 2, with season 3 on my shelf ready for the finale. I was a Grey's Anatomy fan before this and at first I was expecting Private Practice to be exactly the same with a different cast... I was wrong. Private Practice has the same wit and likability that Grey's has but has a completely different atmosphere. The show is very glamorous (contrasting with Grey's which is a lot grittier)and makes for compulsive viewing. A great cast, Kate Walsh is very lovable as the lead Addison. Taye Diggs (Kevin Hill, Ally McBeal, Will and Grace) plays Sam aka Dr Feelgood and Amy Brennaman (Judging Amy, Frasier) plays shrink Violet. This season only has 9 episodes but it includes great special features including a video biography of Kate Walsh. Buy it, you'll love it... SERIOUSLY!

I admit I wasn't a big addison fan in greys but she has won me around in this!! I got it as I was having serious greys anatomy withdrawal as I was awaiting the next season!!It is different to greys - more romance, a few steamy moments but the medical practice is more indepth - you see the patient - the background etc and you see how the different professionals come together - and there personal lives are always involved in one way or another!This is addisons story with friends and collegues along for the ride! She is newly divorced and ready to get a new life.....thats where the fun begins!You get attached to the characters and care about what happens next!!If you enjoyed greys - then buy this! You will not be dissapointed!

I enjoy this, it's no Grey's Anatomy but it's still pretty good, easy to watch and the characters are likeable. Don't buy if you want something meaty and serious, although, having said that, there are some episodes that do delve a little deeper.

at the end of season 4 of grey's anatomy, addison decides to move her life to los angeles to work with her best friend naomi at her practice. so season 1 of private practice sees addison negiotiate to world of los angeles, family medicine and dating. great show which is an emsemble piece with group of well known actors and many familiar faces turning up as guest cast.dvd includes all 9 episodes, dvd extras including kate walsh documentary.

I work long hours and lots of shifts, so i never get chance to get into a routine of watching series on TV. Thus i buy box sets, I love Grey's Anatomy and went through those at a rate of knotts when i had a few hours spare, so i was gutted when i ran out and had to wait for the next season to be released. However i got a disc taster with season 4 Grey's Anatomy of Private Practice, and although it is not based at a main stream hospital the characters and their stories are as gripping as those in Grey's, helped by having Addison as the lead character. Again the box set ended too soon, but it was good. I recommend it.

Not as good as I thought it would be, hopefully it will grip me later, think I've been spoilt watching greys anatomy
