Bitter at first, delicious after
After finding these raw Criollo cacao nibs to be quite bitter upon initial tasting, let me tell you just how they have grown on me! They are an incredible addition to raw mixtures like trail mixes and fabulous in baking. They add the perfect pop and crunch in brownies and chocolate chip cookies. My kids even eat them this way. I have used them recently in "raw" cookie recipes where they are the best! I even sprinkle them over my husband's oatmeal in the morning. As soon as they hit the hot cereal, their chocolate aroma permeates the room. These are for serious dark chocolate lovers who can appreciate the real and natural taste of raw cacao. They have grown on me so much that I now enjoy them straight out of the bag. The bitterness is pleasing, and after a meal seems to clean the palate without a strange aftertaste. And to think this is healthy!

Good quality product. As it turns out, I apparently don't care for the flavor of Cacao Nibs, but the product is good quality.
These seem to be very high quality nibs. That being said, I am apparently not a cacao nibs person. I like chocolate as much as the next guy, but I despise vinegar - it's easily one of my least favorite flavors/smells on the planet. As all cacao nibs are partially fermented, they have a slight vinegar-esque aftertaste flavor. My wife loves it. I do not. But, the fact that I don't like the flavor doesn't mean that these aren't high quality. They do seem to wake me up and give me a couple hours of positive energy when I eat them... and they are supposed to be chock-full of good nutrients. I just wish they tasted a little more like chocolate, and a little less like cacao nibs. :)

Impressive cacoa nib find...
I have only recently discovered the joys that raw cacoa nibs can bring. I discovered them through my desire to find a healthy dessert without all the sugar involved. That chocolate is so healthy in its pure state is just a nifty bonus. So, I set about ordering some nibs from another company and site that I trusted for other things. The product I received, while everything they advertised it to be, came out to be very bitter and not like the treat I was seeking. It was still good, and I knew how healthy it was, but I decided it would be best if I tried other brands. This lead me to consider amazon and the various nibs to be found here.I had also recently learned about the different types of cocoa bean and how the criollo variety is said to be less bitter and more flavorful than the much more common forastero, so I specifically wanted a pack of nibs that came from the criollo variety (The previous nibs I had tried didn't specify the type, leading me to believe it was probably not criollo.)With this in mind, I browsed the selection and after reading reviews and considering prices, settled on these Eastbluff Trading Company nibs. The cost was slightly more than the former nibs I had tried, but with a lot more interesting perks advertised like being organic and single origin.I waited patiently for the nibs to arrive, and when they did just HAD to sample them right away to see how they compared to my previous experience. From that first taste I was sold. A much deeper, more noticeable chocolate flavor minus the bulk of the bitterness my last nibs gave me. It didn't surprise me they were better so much as it was surprising how MUCH they were better. These are (at least for me) very easily eaten straight from the bag and have a welcoming and intense chocolate taste that satisfies my desire for chocolate. If you are looking for a quality snack or dessert and want a healthy substitute for the sugar flavored with chocolate you see at most stores, then I highly recommend giving these cacoa nibs a try.

great for select uses ....
I use these EVERY morning in my recovery smoothie after my early morning run. I do like them BUT there is extra shell like pieces in it. Mind you it is not a lot but enough to be annoying when you bite down and almost break your teeth. I did originally put in to return it as I could not think of any way to use them other than in my smoothies but I opted to keep them. Still not completely sold on them. I ordered some 68% organic and Vegan nibs the next day to use for vegan cooking and baking as I will not use these because of the extremely hard "shell" pieces.

Wake up shock
I heard about this product on Dr. Oz. It does what it says-gives me an energy boost, but there are some facts you need to know before you buy it.It is pure cacao bean, so if you don't like the taste of baker's cacao (bitter) you won't like it.Again, it is pure cacao so there is no extra oil, therefore it is very dry and needs to be chewed throughly. I recommend something to drink and wash it down as you chew.I ground some into a powder and used in baking. Tasted good was 100% rather than 75% cacao, but it then had oil, sugar, etc. added If you love semi-sweet and bitter sweet chocolate - you'll love it and its a great way to get a natural healthy boost.

Delivers the cacao high pretty well
I eat raw cacao to stimulate me, that's it. Taste does not matter, although I have found that criollo beans taste the best and seem to stimulate me most. I heard these were criollo so I bought a pound. When I opened the bag, I thought it was too good to be true, it just smelled way too good. I tasted it it, and it was also amazing. Much easier on the bite than the forastero varieties which take much more chewing. I emailed the company asking them about their manufacturing process and they said they heated the beans to 140 degrees F, which is not technically raw, if that matters to you. This company is among the top for the best tasting cacao beans/nibs on the market so I would definitely recommend.

Tisano Cacao Nibs saved my life and heart!
Tisano Cacao is a wonderful rich cocoa. I add it to my coffee every morning and also make cocoa at night. I first discovered it went I had a heart infection and my cardiologist informed me that I might need a heart transplant for my cardiomyopathy. I started a regiment of Tisano Cacao Nibs and six months later my heart function was normal. My cardiologist called it a miracle. I attributed it to my regimen of Cacao Nibs every evening; she said it was the drugs she prescribed. But she did say the Cacao Nibs was good for the heart—so maybe a bit of both caused my miracle.
