Sews through denim seams.
I've been using a Singer 6430C for the past 18yrs, with no problems other than it just couldn't cope with layers of denim. My biggest seller on Etsy is my tote bag made from repurposed jeans and alas, they were proving just too thick for my trusty Singer. Thought I'd treat myself, did my research and decided to try a Brother product for a change as my Singer is in good condition and I can use it for thinner projects still. Got it yesterday, tried it this afternoon after watching the dvd that came with it and it happily sewed through all the nasty denim seams I could throw at it.It doesn't feel as robust or as heavy and the stitch selector feels and sounds clunky and cheap.... Saying all that, it did what I needed it to do and I wish I'd bought one years ago instead of struggling.The needle threader is great and it's just a case of making sure you have a good practice before you tackle your projects.

The machine is brilliant , the needle threader is magic I had an old machine should have changed it sooner.
