This shelf looks great, but it tips forward as soon as you put anything on it. We bought this to store our children's paperback picture books so they'd be able to access them easily, but it just isn't safe enough to keep in their room. We've tried moving it to different locations, varying the weight on the shelves, but it tips forward no matter where we place it or what is on it. The product description includes hardware for harnessing it to the wall, but we didn't get any in our package. In short, we wouldn't recommend this shelf.

So, bought this due to the reviews. Showed up and has meet my expectations.. until I decided to buy another one.I paid $140 for it and now, a week later.. it's $79!The larger version is $99!!Have written Amazon about this. Need to purchase another one but am now hesitant to give them my business.That being said, there was one issue with build and their instructions. If you follow their guidance, you put the base on first. Problem is, as you put every level together, you really need to put some strength into the screwdriver to secure the screws. With the base on, I could not get the last shelf tight enough without unscrewing the base. Of course, once you re-screw the base on, now those 2 wood screws don't have the same bite into the wood as they originally did.Also, while it's nice that they include a small screw driver, you are probably going to need something slightly bigger.

Product is very well made but had some trouble in identifying the components properly. I wish they had marked each item the alphabet as marked in the assembly sheet -- it would be little easier. A is the longest backboard, the number is 1;B. B is the bottom plate, there are 4 small holes for installing anti-slip mats at the four corners of B, the number is 1;C. C is the top plate in the manual, C There is no opening on the board, only one hole on the side, the number is 1;D. D is the closest to the B board, one side of the D board is a slope, the number is also one;E. F board has 5, the difference between it and D is F The board has no bevels.

This book shelf was a bit confusing to put together, but once I worked it out it was fine. They send you everything to put it together from the screwdriver to some gloves so you don't hurt your hands. It looks nice and the pieces are solid. The only issue I have with the shelf is that it is not stable if you do not want to attach it to the wall (which I don't) and you want to fill it with books. If you don't mind attaching it to the wall or just want to put something light in it, go for it, great product. If you don't want to (or can't) put holes in your wall, and you are using it for books, I recommend to keep shopping.

I'm so excited about my new bookshelf!! I had given my bedroom a makeover & didn't want anything unsightly. This is perfect. I put it together in 30 minutes or less.. it is a little awkward to piece together, and the instructions could have been better, but I figured it out without much difficulty. It's beautiful, sturdy, and came with a little wooden bookmark. I anticipate ordering another!

I was looking for a small shelf in our bedroom. This caught my eye as it was a different design.It arrived in a bigger box with the inner box having the corners protected so there was no damage to the corners of the shelves.Putting it together was a little bit of a challenge. It came with a screw driver and allen wrench and I was a bit confused until we looked at the screws and saw that there was two different heads on them. The instructions were vague about that. Trying to attach each of the shelves to the back board was a bit of a challenge as you try to keep the two pieces together.It is now up and full of books and it is sturdy. It fits perfectly in the small space and looks nice. I am going to buy another one now for another room.

Provided you anchor this, it is a very sturdy bookcase. It was easy to put together in about 15-20 minutes. I didn't realize when purchasing it though... all of the books on the right need to be over down to show the spine, while all the books on the left are cover up. I am not sure why this bothered me but it did. I'm guessing most people wont be bothered by this. Maybe when the shelves are filled it wont bother me either. I just figured it was worth pointing out.
