The only way to tell my eight rescued black kittens apart!
For reasons I never will understand, people where I live don’t adopt black kittens, cats, puppies, or dogs as often as they do pets of other colors. While I love animals of every shape, size, and color, I have a special love for the underdogs (and undercats in this case!) so when even the wonderful rescue organization here had no room for eight, skinny, sniffling, solid-black abandoned kittens, I took them home to try to get them healthy. (While this may inspire “crazy-cat lady” comments, I certainly am not as crazy as some of the politicians in Washington although I may be if I don’t finish my dissertation soon!) The biggest problem at first was telling them apart, as all eight were solid black, with four males and four females. After a day of moving them from pen to pen as I medicated them, I found these soft little collars! The Velcro(R) was perfect to fit them to the kittens’ tiny necks and the variety of colors made it easy to tell the kittens apart finally! Despite all the playing the kittens did later, these didn’t fall off although they would stretch enough to come over a kitten’s head if he or she become entangled, I believe. The vet’s office was so glad for these collars, too, since they didn’t want to mix the kittens up when they were fixed and vaccinated. I’m so glad I found these—and so glad I had the joy of rescuing those eight black kittens! For the record, sibling kittens and cats don’t fight, are very loving toward each other, and entertain each other—and their people! Black cats have that gorgeous, mysterious elegance; they almost always have sweet personalities; and their black hairs don’t show up as much on furniture or clothes as light-colored hairs do, especially if you wear black so you can look as elegant as your cat! Many cultures regard black cats as good luck, and they have been for me although not so much for the occasional mouse that makes its way into my 100-year-old house in the country. To borrow from Groucho Marx, if a black cat crosses your path, all it means is that the cat is going somewhere! :)

Must have soft collar
When my dog had her first litter of 12 puppies I knew I needed a way to tell the puppies apart to keep track of their weight and make sure all were gaining weight. I first attempted to make my own which did not go so well. Then I find these! They are really soft, and work great. They are long and since I was not comfortable having them hang out or wrap around more then once I trimmed them so I will be buying more. The charts are a nice addition and heavy duty.

Satisfied for the price
Likes: Good colors, can tell puppies apart very easily, velcro makes it easy to adjust size as they get bigger, charts are a nice added bonus to your purchaseDislikes: when puppies are newborn it’s hard to wrap the collar around twice without a long tail dangling would prefer a longer strip of velcro, collars are fraying a tad since it’s a softer material so they don’t harm puppies but expected. Would not recommend re-use for a different litter but they are affordable enough to just throw out and get a new set!Update: all collars will not stay on after pups are 4 weeks old now. The Velcro is not sticky anymore, yet can’t really complain due to the price but will have to re-order for the remainder of the time I have the dogs.

GETTING READY FOR PUPPIES!
I have received the Double-sided Soft Puppy ID Collars with Record Keeping Charts and it all looks wonderful! Puppies aren't due until mid-January, but I am glad to have so many different colors and the charts too! Since I am not keeping any puppy, I'm going to name each puppy the color of their collar. Daily each one will be weighed, and if "Yellow" and "Red" lost weight, they will be helped several times that day to drink milk---or will be bottle fed until they catch up in weight. Besides weights, the disposition of each puppy will be noted, and dates of shots. I am delighted to have the records, and the different colors of collars to identify each puppy.

This is a great idea but poor quality
This is a great idea but is poor quality. I have 6 black pups that have no identifying markings other than the collars. For this product to work and be effective the collars have to stay on until the pups go to their new home (6 - 8 weeks). Unfortunately, after 2 or 3 weeks the collars would not stay on and I had to devise another way to identify individual pups. I give this product 1 star only because 0 is not available. This is a good idea but I strongly recommend purchasing another product.

They are ok
There is obviously no quality control, which you can tell right away looking at the pics. The weight chart is even misspelled "weigth." Also, the collars are like a very soft felt material that soils badly even within a couple of days. They can be washed, but eventually the velcro wears out. That said, it is a 10.00$ package, and if you are expecting top notch quality at that point you have lost your minds. The charts are invaluable for tracking your puppies weight, and unless the misspelling is going to drive you crazy, what does it matter? I would definitely advise buying more of the collars because you will get a week or so out of these. This is a decent buy for 10 bucks, and if you are just wanting to track puppy weight (which you should be) then it works very well for that purpose.

wish they would have lasted longer
They are soft, easy to use but don’t stay on the puppies. It’s been less then 2 weeks and they haven’t lasted. We need to buy other ones to identify the puppies.

Worked like a charm
This is the first time I have ever used this product and it works perfectly. I foster for several rescues and get all the pregnant females. When birthing time comes around, this is a very simple easy way to keep track of the pups and how they are progressing.
