Thanks for the question! Please note that our 100% Organic Matcha is NOT decaf. Our matcha is produced in the traditional way, with absolutely no chemical solvents - which would be needed to remove the caffeine - or indeed any chemicals of any kind when producing our 100% Organic Matcha. So, our matcha contains about 35mg caffeine for each 1g serving, equivalent to about 1/3 of a cup of coffee. You can also rest assured that our matcha has all the potent antioxidants and other benefits that you would expect in a quality, organic matcha!

Thanks for the question! Kyoto Teahouse matcha, like all quality matcha, does contains caffeine - about 35mg for each 1g serving. This is equivalent to about 1/3 of a cup of coffee. Unlike in coffee, however, the caffeine in matcha is released slowly into the body, providing sustained energy for several hours, instead rapid spikes and crashes with coffee - this is often described as "calm alertness".
