In clearer water I use brighter colors and in stained or murky waters I use the lighter colors. I'm just a weekend angler but this has worked for me so must be doing something right... **Q: Do you get the same amount of bait with this bag of fish n strips as with the other package that has 2 long strips?** A: The green strips that you have to cut was the better bait, I had more strikes with it over live mullet. **Q: Has anyone tried these in Freshwater recently?** A: Not in freshwater, but saltwater & it does attract the fish. I've been raised to think that fish only bite the freshest, smelliest bait and that artificial baits will only offend their delicate palate. But after having gone shorefishing with these, I may be convinced otherwise. They didn't catch anything big, but they certainly caught fish. I used about 9 of these strips and went home with 4 keepers. I do like that they are very tough. You can cast as far as you want without fear of these flying off the hook. That being said, I'm buying this product again.
