I've seen it on TV... now I can do it myself!
When my wife and I bought our house last year we did a lot of shopping around. We must have seen well over 50 properties before we decided on the one we wanted. The thing that really stuck out to me was that our Top 3 were all houses that were staged in such a way that my wife and I could really picture ourselves living there. The one that stood out - and that we ended up buying - was staged just like some that we'd seen on those TV shows where a designer helps a family dress up their house to sell quickly. After that, I really thought it would be fun and a good way to make money if I could do that myself. After a friend told me about this book, I picked it up and really found the information useful. I am looking forward to applying the principles in this book, and I'm sure they'll really come in handy when we're ready to flip our house next year. Thanks!

Fantastic
My family has been after me for years to go into some kind of decorating business. I have a "good eye" and my friends are always asking me to help them decorate in their homes. Though I'm flattered, I never really believed I could decorate professionally. After all, I'm not trained and I have no experience. And that's exactly what drew me to this book, Become A Home Stager Today! No Experience? No Problem! Those were the magic words I needed to hear to actually consider that I just might be able to start a decorating business of my own. Reading that Karen was a "self-taught" stager really gave me confidence. If she could do it, so could I, right? I love the down-to-earth advice and how everything is spelled out for me step-by-step. I've already done several of the suggested exercises and I think I'm really on my way to becoming a professional home stager!

Wonderfully Helpful!
I was hesitant to buy this book after reading a rather snarky review from another reader. I'm not sure I want to go into staging (I just kinda wanted to check things out) so I didn't want to spend a lot of money on some other book. After I looked at this book's table of contents I decided to take a chance and buy it anyway. I don't know why that other reader was so unimpressed. I thought it was a great little book with lots of good practical information about the staging biz. It also covers many ways to think creatively and grow your business. I feel like I could get started right away, just like the book's title promises.

Easy, simple, fun
I'm older and looking for something new to do with my time and I've been considering staging. I'm a little unsure about how to get started. I've read some books and lots of articles on the subject, and some of them make it sound so easy and some make it sound so hard. I suspect the truth is somewhere in between. That's what I really liked about this book--it's very middle of the road. The author admits that it's going to take some work but she doesn't overwhelm you and she's very encouraging. I would recommend this book if you're thinking of going into staging and don't know where to start.

No Content? No Problem!
I agree totally with Always Learning More's reveiw!!! So much so, that I made the effort to come back and write a review. What a disappointment and waste of money. A drawn out article with big type sums it up pretty well. Perhaps if you have only worked in the home for the last 25 years, and had no business experience whatsoever, this would give you a reasonable idea of what home staging is about and the things you need to give thought to when starting a business. Actually, if you've been working from home and watched HGTV, you would already know more. As far as staring a business, go buy a real book on starting a small business. This book meets neither the content requirements of a book on actual home staging NOR starting a small business. For someone like me, who has a reasonable amount of business experience, they will find 75% of the book a complete bore. I pretty much read the whole thing while getting a pedicure, that's how comprehensive it was (and how big the type was in this 142 page book). I kept waiting for the good stuff to start... I wanted serious tips and tricks to room set-up, etc. Sorry, `don't let a sofa block a walkway area because it make the room look smaller' just didn't cut-it!! I am considering a career change and home staging looks very interesting to me. I was really disappointed with the lack of content in this book. I got more information from some videos on youtube.

Great Book, Simple and Easy to Read
The author just relates the material to you as though you were sitting there having a chat with her. I like that, because it doesn't intimidate me. It's a no frills book, but it's packed with good info, and to be honest I had no idea how much was involved in becoming a home stager. It really opened my eyes to all the hard work involved in this career and for that alone, I'm glad I read the book.
